31-year-old singer-songwriter Atle Pettersen has released his effort to represent Norway at Eurovision 2021, 'World On Fire'.
'World On Fire' is an uplifting and inspiring mid-tempo pop song with lyrics co-written by Pettersen himself.
Pettersen is one of a lucky group of six acts whose songs have been pre-qualified to the Melodi Grand Prix (MGP) Grand Final.
Pettersen was previously a member of two bands in Norway, Above Symmetry and The Scheen.
In 2014 Pettersen, as part of his band The Scheen, won the Emergenza Festival, the world's largest music competition for unsigned bands with as many as 34,000 participants from 150 countries across the globe.
As a 14-year-old, Pettersen completed in MGP Junior in 2003 with a song that he wrote himself entitled 'Hekta på brett'.
Pettersen has also competed as a contestant on 'The X Factor Norway' in 2010 and on 'Dancing With The Stars Norway 2011' where he won the competition.
Among the other automatic finalists for Melodi Grand Prix this year are 'The Voice 2017' contestant Kaja Rode with her song 'Feel Again', returning Eurovision fan favourites KEiiNO with 'Monument', Melodi Grand Prix 2020 finalist Rein Alexander with 'Eyes Wide Open', boy band Stavangerkameratene with their song 'Barndomsgater' and songwriter of international hit 'Sweet but Psycho' TIX with his song 'Ut Av Mørket'.
