Volunteers and construction leads rolled up their sleeves last month to restore the deck, stairs, ADA ramp and handrails of a Community Entry Services home, which assists adults with disabilities.
The build was part of a partnership between Community Entry Services, led by Carolyn Worth, and Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area, led by Kris Greenville.
“We have the construction and project management expertise,” Greenville said in a news release. “CES has homes that are in real need of modifications that will improve the lives of their clients. It’s a perfect match and a great example of how nonprofits can help each other out.”
The partners are currently raising $60,000 for the materials and subcontractors needed to complete work on a second Community Entry Services property. At that location, Habitat crews will revamp a second ADA ramp, an accessible pathway to an outdoor activity area and an existing bathroom so that all three meet the needs of current and future residents.
Habitat is donating the labor for the project, which is overseen by construction manager Peter Wood and construction supervisor Kaeli McClenahan.
Worth called the improvements “much needed upgrades” that will serve clients for years to come.
