Houston freshman QB Maddox Kopp to enter transfer portal - Houston Chronicle

University of Houston freshman quarterback Maddox Kopp said Sunday that he plans to enter the transfer portal.

“I want to thank the University of Houston for everything the past year,” Kopp wrote on Twitter. “After talking with my family, the best decision for me Is to move on and enter the transfer portal.”

Kopp, who played at St. Thomas, was the only quarterback signed by the Cougars in the 2021 class. Many believed Kopp would challenge to be UH’s quarterback of the future. 

Kopp originally picked UH over offers from Ole Miss, Colorado, Wyoming and Tulane.
