SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano School District will be turning to a panel of medical experts to help guide the school district in their plans for school re-opening in the fall.
The newly formed Re-Entry Committee will meet on regular basis to assess the current status of COVID-19 as it relates to the Shawano County and the city of Shawano specifically.
The committee, comprised of medical personnel, doctors, school board members and the district superintendent are tasked with advising the Shawano School District district as to what model they should open in for September 1st as well as advise the district when it would be appropriate to change education models given the status of COVID-19 at that time throughout the school year.
This decision was made in replacement of a system that would base school education models completely on the stats provided by the state health department and the Shawano-Menominee County Health Department.
The School Board voted unanimously to have the committee set up during their meeting earlier this month.
