LIHU‘E — Pu‘uhonua Kaulike, the Lihu‘e state courthouse, is open.

However, public entry is limited to those with official business who meet screening criteria pertaining to COVID-19, including stating purpose of entry, wearing appropriate face coverings, submitting to temperature checks and answering questions about COVID-19 symptoms, exposure and recent travel.

Bandanas, gaiters and masks with vents are inadequate. Anyone seeking a medical exemption from the mask requirement should call the number below in advance of scheduled court business.

Attorneys are encouraged to review emergency orders issued by Hawai‘i Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald and Fifth Circuit Chief Judge Randal Valenciano. Attorneys or litigants may ask the presiding judge to participate in a hearing remotely.
