Blotter: Men claiming to be village employees ask to enter Northbrook home for water samples - Chicago Tribune

The following items were taken from Northbrook Police Department reports and releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

DUI

Benjamin R. Stiller, 41, of the 600 block of Vernon Avenue, Glencoe, was charged May 22 with driving under the influence, disregarding a traffic control and failure to carry a driver’s license at Skokie Boulevard and Henrici Drive. Stiller is scheduled to appear in court June 17.

Matthew P. Wiggemansen, 30, of the 3800 block of Mission Hills Road, was charged May 23 with driving under the influence, transportation of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and having expired registration at Skokie Boulevard and Dundee Road. Wiggemansen is scheduled to appear in court June 17.

Attempted burglary

A complainant in the 1300 block of Willow Road reported May 22 that when employees arrived for work they saw a sliding glass window open, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Criminal damage/defacement

A complainant in the 1000 block of Blackthorn Lane reported May 22 that someone broke the rear window of their parked car with an unknown object.

An officer on patrol May 25 in the 1300 block of Greenbriar Lane saw what appeared to be new graffiti on several utility boxes.

Theft

A complainant in the 3000 block of Pheasant Creek Drive reported May 25 that a package was delivered for them and when they returned home someone had taken it without permission.

Suspicious subjects

A complainant in the 2500 block of Salceda Drive reported May 25 that two men claiming to be contractors hired by the village requested entry to their home to take water samples, but the complainant called the police and the men left.
