FLINT, MI -- A 19-year-old man was shot and killed while attempting to enter a Flint home early Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers with the Flint Police Department responded shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday, May 23, to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Campbell Street, between Camden Avenue and Euston Street.
The homeowner told police the man attempted to enter the residence, Flint Police Chief Terence Green confirmed Sunday night with MLive-The Flint Journal.
Green confirmed the homeowner was the shooter.
The man who was shot, whose name has not been released, was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.
No arrests have been made at this time.
The investigation is ongoing by the Flint Major Case Unit, consisting of Flint and Michigan State Police detectives.
No additional information about the shooting has been provided by police at this time.
