The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Christian Kyrou to a three-year entry-level contract, the club announced Wednesday. His contract with the Stars will begin in the 2023-24 season.
Kyrou, 19, has split the 2022-23 season with the Erie Otters and Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), posting 67 points in 45 games.
The blueliner was selected by Dallas in the second round (No. 50 overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. Kyrou is the second signee from that draft the Stars have signed, having inked a contract with defenseman Gavin White on March 2.
Kyrou ranks second among OHL defensemen in assists (49), third in points (67) and fifth in goals (18). He was recently named OHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 5 after leading the Sting to a 3-0-0 record and a 2023 OHL playoff berth with second points.
