But just because they have come to expect the media to spread rumors about them does not mean that they are not any less frustrated by some of the things that they read about themselves in the papers.  In the past, Harry has pleaded with the media to give him his privacy and to leave Markle alone. Now, however, the young prince has reached his boiling point and is ready to take his frustrations to court. He has decided to sue the popular British publication, the Mail on Sunday, for editing and publishing a letter that his wife wrote to her father. Many fans are commending the prince on standing up for himself, but some think that by filing this lawsuit, the Duke of Sussex may have bitten off more than he can chew. So, did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just start a war they will not be able to win? Here is what we know about the situation so far. Why are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry suing a world-renowned publication? Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex | Chris Jackson/Getty Images On October 1, 2019, Prince Harry and Markle released a joint statement on their official website where they announced that they would be filing a lawsuit against The Mail on Sunday for illegally publishing a letter that Markle wrote to her father just before she married Prince Harry. The announcement read: "The contents of a private letter were published unlawfully in an intentionally destructive manner to manipulate you, the reader, and further the divisive agenda of the media group in question. In addition to their unlawful publication of this private document, they purposely misled you by strategically omitting select paragraphs, specific sentences, and even singular words to mask the lies they had perpetuated for over a year." In the statement, Prince Harry says that he has finally decided to take legal action against the publication because he could no longer watch his wife "suffer in silence." The Mail on Sunday is prepared to fight back Markle is the one who is technically suing the publication, but Prince Harry is the one who is unapologetically letting the world know just how angry this situation has made him. Harry still very much blames the media for not only his mother's death but also her unhappiness while she was still alive. And now that they are attacking his wife, he is afraid that history will repeat itself. The Mail On Sunday has said they do not believe that they have done anything wrong and that they are prepared to fight this matter out in court.  A statement released by the infamous publication said: "The Mail on Sunday stands by the story it published and will be defending this case vigorously. Specifically, we categorically deny that the Duchess's letter was edited in any way that changed its meaning." Could Meghan Markle and Prince Harry be fighting a losing battle? This is hardly the first time that a member of the royal family has sued a global publication. In fact, in 2012, Prince William sued a French magazine for secretly taking an publishing topless photos of Kate Middleton while she and William were vacationing in France.  In this particular case, however, some feel that Harry and Markle's decision to sue The Mail On Sunday may not result in the outcome that they are hoping for.  The BBC recently spoke with former Daily Mirror editor, Roy Greenslade who thinks that because the media is not nearly as powerful as it used to be, Harry and Markle's suit may be a bit overkill. "Is he taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut here," Greenslade asked. "I think he may well find that this is counter-productive." Royal Correspondent, Nicholas Witchell, disagrees with Greenslade and thinks that Markle and harry's decision to sue one of the biggest publications in the world could be a huge mistake because "British tabloids are not afraid to fight." But Greenslade says that we will just have to wait and see if this was a wise decision on Harry and Markle's part. So, how did we get here? Some quick background: Drake loves to write songs about not having a stable father figure in his life, rapping on "Look What You've Done" about "my father living in Memphis now, he can't come this way/Over some minor charges and child support." Drake has also spoken multiple times in interviews about his childhood on the mean streets of Toronto, telling Lebron James on HBO's The Shop last year that "I was really hard on my parents for giving me sort of a childhood that I had to wrap my mind around as I grew." Drake's father, Dennis Graham, responded to Drake's claims earlier this month on Power 105 FM with Nick Cannon, saying, "I have always been with Drake. I talk to him, if not every day, every other day." Graham went on to claim that Drake even admitted to him that his lyrics were false, saying, "We really got into a deep conversation about that… I said, Drake, why are you saying all this stuff about me? Farrow's account includes a new interview with former NBC News employee Brooke Nevils, who alleges Lauer anally raped her in his hotel room while in Russia to cover the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. It was Nevils' complaint that led to Lauer's 2017 firing from the Today show, but her identity—and some of the details of the allegation—were not previously known to the public. Farrow outlines Nevils' account of the night in Sochi where she was assigned to work with former Today co-anchor Meredith Vieira. After a night of drinking at the hotel bar, Nevils says she went to Lauer's hotel room to pick up her press credential, and then returned when Lauer invited her back shortly after. Nevils told Farrow she "had no reason to suspect Lauer would be anything but friendly based on prior experience." From Variety: Once she was in his hotel room, Nevils alleges, Lauer — who was wearing a T-shirt and boxers — pushed her against the door and kissed her. He then pushed her onto the bed, "flipping her over, asking if she liked anal sex," Farrow writes. "She said that she declined several times." According to Nevils, she "was in the midst of telling him she wasn't interested again when he 'just did it,'" Farrow writes. "Lauer, she said, didn't use lubricant. The encounter was excruciatingly painful. 'It hurt so bad. I remember thinking, Is this normal?' She told me she stopped saying no, but wept silently into a pillow." Lauer then asked her if she liked it. She tells him yes. She claims that "she bled for days," Farrow writes. Nevils tells Farrow: "It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent," she says. "It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn't want to have anal sex." After the incident, Nevils says she had other "transactional" sexual encounters with Lauer, who she said was terrified would end her career. Farrow writes that Nevils is not alone in continuing to have a sexual relationship with the former NBC star, even after enduring incidents of sexual assault. Nevils said she told "like a million people" about her encounters with Lauer, including colleagues and superiors at NBC. In the fall of 2017, at Viera's urging, Nevils went to NBC Universal human resources with her complaint, which led to Lauer's dismissal. 『まだ結婚できない男』にファン歓喜＆絶賛の嵐…視聴率2桁記録、でも拭えない懸念 | ビジネスジャーナル - Business Journal Posted: 09 Oct 2019 03:45 AM PDT 『まだ結婚できない男』にファン歓喜＆絶賛の嵐…視聴率2桁記録、でも拭えない懸念 | ビジネスジャーナル - Business Journal 『まだ結婚できない男』公式サイトより 　阿部寛が主演を務める連続ドラマ『まだ結婚できない男』（フジテレビ系）の第1話が10月8日に放送され、平均視聴率11.5％（ビデオリサーチ調べ、関東地区）を記録した。 　同ドラマは、2006年に阿部の主演で放送された『結婚できない男』（同）の続編となっている。皮肉っぽくて独善的な主人公・桑野信介（阿部）は、周囲と衝突しながら独身生活を謳歌する一方で、ふと不安になることも……。しかし、前作で出会った早坂夏美（夏川結衣）とはゴールインに至らなかったようで、あれから13年経ち、53歳となった桑野は相変わらず"お一人様"を満喫しつつ、偏屈さには一層磨きがかかった。ちなみに脚本は、前作に引き続き尾崎将也氏が担当。主題歌は、以前のEvery Little Thing『スイミー』から、今作では持田香織がセルフカバーした『まだスイミー』を採用している。 　そんな『まだ結婚できない男』第1話では、有能な建築士として名を知られる桑野が、インターネット上での誹謗中傷に悩まされている様子が描かれた。桑野はたまたま通りかかった法律事務所に入り、弁護士の吉山まどか（吉田羊）に相談するが、ここでも偏屈な発言を連発。まどかに「敵をつくりやすい」と指摘されても意に介さず、後日、彼女の腕を確かめるために裁判の傍聴にも出向く……という内容だった。 　前作から同ドラマのファンは多く、ネット上には「桑野さんおかえりー！　今作も楽しませてもらいます！」「阿部さんは"面倒くさい男"になりきるのがやっぱり上手い！」「13年も経ってるのに、桑野さんがそのまんまパワーアップした感じですごいなぁ」など、好意的な声が寄せられている。 　前作では桑野には"日課"があり、女好きの建築家・金田裕之（高知東生）のホームページをチェックしては「お、金田更新してるな」とつぶやきながら、彼が書いた日記を読んでやっかむ……というお決まりのパターンが視聴者にウケていたのだが、16年に高知が覚醒剤と大麻所持で逮捕された影響か、今作には登場しない。 "金田不在"に関しては、やはりネット上でも「寂しい」「金田、そして高知はこのドラマに必要な存在だった」「少し期待してたんだけど、やっぱり金田は出せなかったか～」などとガッカリされている。しかし、制作サイドもそのあたりがわかっているようで、今回チラッと映り込んだ"桑野のデスクに置かれていた荷物"の差出人を確認すると、なんと金田の名前が……！　これには「素敵な演出！　ありがとうございます！」「なんかウルッときた」「この世界では金田さんも元気にやってるんだろうな、と感じられて嬉しい」といった書き込みが続出していた。 Let's block ads!
