| Grosso Scores Her First Goal of Season; Kentucky Plays Tennessee to 1-1 Draw - UKAthletics Posted: 18 Oct 2020 08:42 PM PDT LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women's soccer team recorded its second point of the season, playing Tennessee to a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of action at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex on Sunday evening. The Wildcats move to a 0-3-2 record in 2020, while the Volunteers hold a 2-2-1 record. Both Kentucky's and Tennessee's goals happened in the first six minutes of the contest. The Volunteers scored first, after Abbey Burdette nudged the ball in the net, connecting off a corner kick from Claudia Dipasupil in the second minute. Less than five minutes later, Kentucky's Julia Grosso leveled the contest, launching the ball inside the top left corner in the sixth minute. She moved up to midfield last weekend vs. then-No. 8 Georgia after starting in the backline to begin the season. Kentucky recorded its most shots on frame this fall, aiming eight at the net against a strong Tennessee defensive line. Grosso and Maria Olsen were credited with two apiece, while Gretchen Mills, Hannah Richardson and Jordyn Rhodes added one shot on frame each. Meanwhile, the Wildcats posted 16 shots in the game, also a season high, against the Volunteers' 22 shots. Kentucky's backline allowed just seven shots on frame from Tennessee's strikers, tying a season low. Goalkeeper Brooke Littman made six saves, reaching 36 saves through five games this season. It is the most saves she has recorded in a season, four more than her previous record of 31 saves in 2017-18 at Notre Dame. The redshirt senior competed in all 110 minutes of the contest, as did Caroline Trout, Úlfa Úlfarsdóttir, Marie Olesen and Peyton Rimko. | 360度カメラ/マイク/スピーカーが合体!? 話題のWebカメラ「Meeting Owl」を試す - AV Watch Posted: 18 Oct 2020 08:13 PM PDT desimpul.blogspot.com  先日、ソースネクストが販売を開始し、法人ユーザーを中心に国内出荷が2,000台を超えたという会議用Webカメラ「Meeting Owl(ミーティングオウル)」。 まさにフクロウのような見た目の置物だが、本体には360度対応のカメラ、マイク、スピーカーを搭載し、AI機能で話者に自動でフォーカスを合わせることができるというデバイスだ。USBでWindowsやMacと接続すれば、準備は完了。あとはZoomやSkype、Google Meet、Microsoft Teamsなどなど、好みのWeb会議システムで利用できるという。  テレビCMでも放映されていたので「これはなんだろう?」と思っていたら、ソースネクストの担当者から「使ってみませんか?」との連絡。一体どのような製品なのか試してみるとともに、そのオーディオ機能にフォーカスを当ててチェックしてみた。 フクロウデザインのMeeting OwlとはMeeting Owlは米マサチューセッツ州ボストンにあるOWL Labs社が開発したビデオ会議用デバイス。1080pに対応し、高音質・高機能マイクを搭載した「Meeting Owl Pro」と、720pで一回り小さい「Meeting Owl」の2種類があるようだが、国内でソースネクストが扱っているのは上位版のMeeting Owl Pro。ただ、国内での製品名は単純に"Meeting Owl"(型番はMeeting Owl Pro MTW200)となっている。なお標準価格は、115,000円と結構なお値段だ。 ソースネクストから送られてきた箱を開けてみると、中からはズッシリとした筒のようなものが現れた。  これのどこがフクロウなんだろうか? と不思議に思いつつ、取り出してビニール袋を開封。電源ケーブルやUSBケーブルなども入っているので、これらも取り出し、数ページのスタートアップマニュアルを見てみると、まず初期設定をスマートフォンで行なえ、とある。 そう、Meeting OwlはWindowsやMacで使うデバイスではあるが、初期設定だけはiOSデバイス、もしくはAndroldデバイスで行なうようになっている。1回だけ行なえばOKというのは、今風の機材といったところか。  とりあえず、マニュアルにしたがってアプリをダウンロード。一方で、Meeting Owlに電源を接続すると、目の部分が光り、「ブルルゥゥゥ」と鳴いた。  なるほど、確かにフクロウのようにも見える。ここでダウンロードしたアプリを起動させると、Wi-Fiが近くにあるMeeting Owlを発見。これを選ぶと、Meeting Owlにデバイス名を付けるように促されるとともに、どのWi-Fiルーターに接続するか、そのパスワードは何か……などを訊ねてくる。このアプリは単純にこれらを設定するだけのもののようだ。   Wi-Fi接続を行なうと、内部ファームウェアのアップデートなどもできるようになっている。もっともPCとMeeting OwlはWi-Fi接続というわけではなく、USB接続だから、通常はWi-Fiはなくても問題はなさそうだ。 さっそくボトムにある端子にUSBケーブルを挿し、Windowsと接続してみたところ、USBクラスコンプライアントとなっているようで、ドライバのインストールも不要で認識した。 Windows設定でサウンドを見てみると、出力デバイスとして「エコーキャンセルスピーカーフォン(Meeting Owl Pro)」というものが現れた。また同じく入力デバイスにも「エコーキャンセルスピーカーフォン(Meeting Owl Pro)」が表示された。    デバイスとプリンターを見てみると、Meeting Owl Proというアイコンが確認できる。プロパティを見てみると、先ほどの「エコーキャンセルスピーカーフォン(Meeting Owl Pro)」が確認できるほか、カメラデバイスとして「Meeting Owl Pro Camera」というものがあることも確認できる。   Meeting Owlのオーディオ性能を検証してみた通話だけでは、Meeting Owlの性能を客観的に把握することができないため、今度はカメラデバイス、マイクデバイスから自分を録画してみることにした。ここではビデオ編集ソフトのVegas Pro 18が搭載しているVEGAS Video Capture機能を使って録画したものがこちらだ。 Meeting Owlのテスト 見てもらうと分かると思うが、ほぼ同じ声の大きさで、ずっと「Test、Test…」と繰り返しているが、声の方向にカメラが追従している。20cm程度の近距離から、最大3mほど離れたところまで移動しているが、音量があまり変化しないことが見て取れる。これはMeeting Owlが持つノーマライズ機能による効果だと思われる。下記の波形を見ても、ある程度の差はあるが、自動的に音量調整を行なっているということなのだろう。  では、このマイクの音質はどの程度のものなのだろうか? 先ほどの話からすると明瞭であり、柔らかい音で聴こえたとのことだが、多少客観的なデータを取るために、目の前にあるモニタースピーカーから1kHzの信号を出し、それを録音してみた結果を、efu氏の分析ツール・WaveSpectraでチェックしてみた。 まあ、無音状態での録音ではなく、目の前でデスクトップPCのファンなども鳴っている中での録音ではあるが、一つの参考になるだろうか。  さらに周波数特性をチェックするために20Hz～22.05kHzまでの音を発生するスイープ信号を流し、これも録音、分析してみた。 下図は横軸をLogでとった場合と、リニアでとった場合のそれぞれのグラフだ。これを見ると、100Hz以下の音はあまり捉えておらず、周波数が上がると、少しずつ下がっていく。また、その曲線も滑らかに、というわけではなく、結構ガタボコしているのが見て取れる。   実は、この録音「SOUND FORGE Pro 14」を使って行なっていたのだが、このSOUND FORGEで録音している際にも、妙なうねりがあることが確認できた。原因はハッキリしないが、おそらくMeeting Owlが持つAI機能が何等かの処理を行なっていたということなのだろう。  Meeting Owlの目的は、オーディオをキレイに流すことではなく、あくまでも会話がしっかり聴き取れるようにすることだ。この分析結果で甲乙を判断するものではないが、オーディオ用として考えると、ややクセのある特性といえそうだ。 では、このMeeting Owlのスピーカーとしての再生性能はどうだろう? 通信して会話をする分には、非常に聴き取りやすく、エコーキャンセル機能によってループバックやハウリングを起こすこともなく使えるのは便利だが、オーディオのスピーカーとしての利用が可能なのかはちょっと気になるところ。 そこで、普通にプレーヤーソフトを使って音楽を再生してみたところ、ドンシャリとは逆で、中域だけが鳴るサウンドだった。まあ、通話用だから当然といえば当然の特性だろうか。 本機はステレオではなくモノラルで全方位に音を発するが、気になったのは、ステレオがミックスされてモノラルしているのか、という点。もし、そうであれば、左右で逆相の音を再生すれば音が消えるはずなので、これを試してみた。 サイン波の信号を左右逆相にして再生してみたところ、普通にピーっとなる。あれ? と思って確認してみたところ、なんのことはない。左チャンネルの音だけが再生され、右チャンネルは鳴らないというモノラル仕様になっていたのだ。 予想はしていたが、Meeting Owlは音楽用、オーディオ用ではなく、オンライン会議に特化したデバイスであることがハッキリわかった。 通話用としてみると、非常に明瞭で、聴きとりやすく、音量も自動で調整してくれるなど、とてもよくできたデバイスだ。最大で3人までの声を同時に認識し、それぞれに話者にフォーカスを当てることができ、画面上部の360度画面と、画面下に3分割で3人を映し出すことができるとのこと。そうした本来の機能をまったく検証できていないが、あえてオーディオ性能にだけをチェックしてみると、このようなものだったので、一つの参考にしていただければと思う。 からの記事と詳細 https://ift.tt/2FDHfRM ビジネス  |

Jose Mourinho conceded that Tottenham were punished for believing West Ham were dead and buried as his side surrendered a three-goal lead. Three strikes in the final eight minutes - the last a Manuel Lanzini long-range thunderbolt with the last kick of the game - secured a breathtaking point for David Moyes's men after Harry Kane and Son Heung-min had put Spurs 3-0 up by half-time. Tottenham boss Mourinho refused to publicly criticise his team despite their calamitous capitulation but did indicate that he would read the riot act to his players privately.  Tottenham blew a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with West Ham after a late collapse on Sunday  Jose Mourinho was left stunned by the comeback after Spurs missed a chance to go second However, the Special One admitted his players had paid a high price for presuming they were already home and dry. 'I don't think we believed that it could ever happen, what happened, and we were punished by that and punished by their belief,' said the Portuguese. 'It's easier for me to praise them than criticise us. It's easier for me to analyse internally and discuss with the players than speak about it and my feelings now. We were not good enough or strong enough to cope with the last 10 minutes.'  The hosts blazed ahead after only a minute and were in control at 3-0 after just 16 minutes Gareth Bale made his first appearance since returning to Tottenham when he was introduced as a 72nd-minute substitute. But his homecoming turned into a nightmare as West Ham produced their brilliant comeback during the time when he was on the pitch, and the Welshman also squandered a golden opportunity just moments before Lanzini's equaliser. On the matter of starting Bale on the bench, Mourinho added: 'The decision not to start him was I think a good one, a decision to show that he doesn't have a beautiful chair waiting for him in the team and he sits there the first time he can. Kristin Hailee Farris, 21, of Danville, Virginia, was recorded hand-feeding what appeared to be watermelon, chocolate and other treats to the wild animal in Gatlinburg in late September, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Association said Friday. Charges were filed against her for illegal black bear feeding in connection to the video, which has been viewed more than 500,000 times, news station WVLT reported. Wildlife officials said regulations forbid people from feeding bears or leaving food in garbage cans in a manner that attracts them. The rule applies to a six-mile radius around Gatlinburg and is intended to discourage the beasts from entering the city. If convicted, she faces up to six months in jail and a $500 fine. "The overwhelming desire to have a close encounter with a black bear is strangely more powerful than common sense," said Sevier County Wildlife Sgt. David Sexton in a statement. | TPG Telecom to launch budget mobile service Felix - ZDNet Posted: 18 Oct 2020 07:44 PM PDT  TPG Telecom is launching a new digital-only, app-based mobile service called Felix. The new mobile service will compete against Telstra's budget brand Belong and is the first new brand to be unveiled by TPG Telecom since the merger between TPG and Vodafone. The new service will join TPG Telecom's suite of brands Vodafone, TPG, and iiNet, and use the telco's existing mobile network. To use Felix's mobile services, users will need to sign up through the Felix app and will then receive a SIM card, TPG Telecom said. Touted as being powered by 100% renewable energy, TPG Telecom CEO Inaki Berroeta said Felix is the first step in the merged company's sustainability focus. "Environmental sustainability is important to us, and it's important to our customers, shareholders, and the community," Berroeta said. The prices of Felix's offerings have not been released yet, but they will be made public in a month's time, the telco said. The release of the pricing will coincide with the service's launch, which will be available in the coming weeks. Having only just turned 31, Pato has been a free agent since August when Sao Paulo agreed to terminate his contract. Despite the coronavirus pandemic making clubs more likely to take up free agents, none has yet come calling for the Brazilian forward. Pato's current situation is a far cry from how his career began, when everything he touched turned to gold. As a confident 17-year-old, Pato quickly turned heads when he beat Pele's record to become the youngest goalscorer in a FIFA-organised competition while playing for Internacional. Despite his young age, he didn't take long to step up and help Inter lift the Club World Cup in 2006. His fast start continued at international level too as he scored within seconds of his debut for Brazil in 2008 - beating another Pele record for quickest goal on full debut for the Selecao. By this time, Pato had secured a €24 million ($28m / £22m) move to AC Milan where he scored on his Serie A debut against Napoli. | Premier League Match Report: Leicester City 0 - 1 Aston Villa - Fosse Posse Posted: 18 Oct 2020 07:08 PM PDT Leicester City fell to Aston Villa by a score of 1-0 at the King Power on Sunday evening. The match appeared to be headed to a richly-deserved nil-nil final score, but Ross Barkley's long-range strike in injury time gave the Villains the three points. Leicester City currently have an injury crisis, compounded by a baffling number of defenders on loan crisis with a little "players who have fallen out of favor" crisis thrown in as well. Which is to say, anyone who correctly predicted Brendan Rodgers' starting XI is either psychic or Brendan Rodgers. Kasper Schmeichel, the slayer of Mason Mount, got the nod in goal behind a back four of Timothy Castagne, Jonny Evans, debutante Wesley Fofana, and James Justin. Nampalys Mendy anchored the midfield between Youri Tielemans and the newly-fit Dennis Praet. Rodgers opted for an attacking three with Ayoze Perez and Harvey Barnes flanking Kelechi Iheanacho. James Maddison was deemed fit enough to make the bench, but the most notable addition to the matchday squad was surely the return of Islam Slimani. If you didn't already know I was going to link this, you just don't know me at all. The opening quarter hour was devoid of notable highlights, but it was not without pockets of interest. Praet and Evans lined up on the left side of their central positions, with Fofana and Tielemans on the right. The Villains attack was almost completely nullified by Leicester's defense, with Castagne marking Grealish out of the game and Mendy breaking up everything in the midfield. The Foxes weren't finding much more joy, but attacks down the right were getting behind the defense on occasion but failed to find the final ball. It was an extremely tactical match with two well-matched sides cancelling each other out. Grealish switched sides to try to get away from Castagne and fashioned Villa's first decent attack from a free kick. If Leicester just edged the opening quarter of the match, Villa were perhaps slightly on top for the second as Grealish was starting to see more of the ball by staying as far as he could from Castagne. Matty Cash was next into the book for trying to remove Barnes' shorts after the England man was past him, and Tielemans saw yellow for a late challenge in the Villa half. The first half ended 0-0 and that was just about right. The Foxes had three shots on target to Villa's none, but you wouldn't know it from listening to the commentators who were apparently being paid by how many positive comments they made about Jack Grealish. He's a fine player and all, albeit with a violent, petulant streak, but he was, according to whoscored.com, the 13th best player on the pitch in the first half. The second half started with the sides and, unfortunately, the commentary team unchanged. The Foxes started more brightly, winning an early corner but failing to make anything of it. The Villains then picked up the pace while the Leicester defense started resorting to long balls over the top to...well, no one really. Villa won a succession of corners but Fofana and Evans dealt with them with relative ease. There wasn't a great deal at this point to differentiate the action in the second half from that in first. If I were a lazy(er) man, I'd just suggest re-reading the recap from the first half. Leicester made some forays down the wings and won a dubious free kick just outside the area but Tielemans' shot was easily held by Martinez. Villa won some more corners but didn't do anything interesting with them. Madders' first action was to win a free kick on the edge of the area. A second quick change was made, with Islam Slimani replacing Iheanacho. The free kick came to nothing, and Villa were off on the attack. Castagne won the ball cleaning off of Grealish, who fell to the ground in anticipation of contact. The Villa man then swung an elbow at the Belgium international. The referee quickly produced a yellow card...for Castagne for some reason.
This can mean only one thing: Ahmed Musa incoming in 3...2... Rodgers made his final change, sending Hamza Choudhury on for Mendy. The Foxes were on top, or at least, possessing of slightly more elevation, than the visitors. Neither team looked especially like scoring as the clock wound...up? In the U.S., the clock winds down, but that doesn't seem right here. Anyway, in injury time, out of absolutely nothing Ross Barkley got free twenty five yards out and beat Schmeichel at the far post. Well, that was awful. That game had 0-0 written all over it, which, given the injuries, would have been a decent result for the Foxes. We were slightly the better side through 90 minutes, but not by nearly enough to deserve the three points. It was a tight, tactical match and it's hugely disappointing not to get a point from it.
I get this, but Ayoze was really good defensively today and after what Grealish did to Liverpool, I can understand his thinking. The refereeing was genuinely awful, as one would expect of Jon Moss, but strangely enough, it didn't really affect the result. On the other hand, the commentators were the worst I think I've ever experienced. It's not just that they were entranced with all things Villa and spoke endlessly about how they were the team creating chances in spite of the them having half the shots and literally none on target at the time. It was their deep, abiding love of Jack Grealish. Grealish is good, no doubt, but you'd never know there were any other Villa players listening to them. Truly dreadful stuff, and if you had to pay to listen to them, then my condolences. The defeat leaves the Foxes with 9 points from 5 matches, good enough for 4th on the table. Next up, Europe comes to the King Power as we host Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League on Thursday. | 「犯人は黙秘」 レタス散らばる現場で容疑者のネコちゃん確保 口元の物的証拠が決め手か - ねとらぼ Posted: 18 Oct 2020 06:28 PM PDT 「犯人は黙秘」 レタス散らばる現場で容疑者のネコちゃん確保 口元の物的証拠が決め手か - ねとらぼ サラダの周りでレタス散らばる写真と、レタスを口元につけたまま素知らぬ顔をしているネコちゃんの写真がTwitterに投稿され話題になっています。  レタスの惨状…… 一体だれが……「犯人は黙秘を続けています」という言葉とともに愛莉（@airi_____）さんによって投稿された2枚の写真。細かくちぎれたレタスと何とも言えない表情をしているネコちゃん。こちらのネコちゃんの名前は「月」ちゃん。元保護猫の女の子です。明らかに食べ散らかされたあとですが、月ちゃんは素知らぬ顔をしています。しかし月ちゃんはどうやら致命的なミスを犯してしまったようです。  ！！口元に見慣れた黄緑色の何かが……。そうレタスです！ これは完全なる物的証拠で言い逃れは厳しい状況ですね。レタスや大根、キュウリなどの野菜は、ネコちゃんによっては難しい場合もありますが、少しなら食べても問題ないと言われている野菜。今回は一緒にレタスをシャクシャク食べて和解に至ったそうです。 レタスがお口についていなくてもその表情でバレてしまうのではと思えるほどのわかりやすい表情だった月ちゃん。その表情の豊かさは他の場合にも発揮されているようです。例えばとある日の爪切りをされた直後とちゅーるを食べてご機嫌なときの写真を並べたものでは、同じネコちゃんか疑うほどに様子が違います。どちらにしろかわいいことには変わりはありませんが、心の声が聞こえるようです。 保護猫の月ちゃんは、厳しい環境で過ごしていた時期も。愛莉さんの家族になった当初は警戒心が強かったようですが、今ではお菓子番までしちゃうほどなじみました。やさしく安心できる場所でたっぷり愛されている様子を見ると心が温かくなりますね。 愛莉さんのTwitterアカウント（@airi_____）では月ちゃんの元気でかわいい写真がたくさん投稿されています！ 画像提供：愛莉さん 関連記事関連リンクCopyright © ITmedia, Inc. | Free mobile COVID test sites scheduled for southern Illinois - WSIL TV Posted: 18 Oct 2020 05:44 PM PDT  (WSIL) -- With the continued spike in COVID-19 positivity rates in southern Illinois, health officials are encouraging residents to get tested. The Illinois Department of Public Health warns that new restrictions could hit Region 5 if rates continue to rise. Region 5 surpassed an 8% Threshold this week, recording eight days of Positivity Increases. Health officials are reminding residents if they are experiencing symptoms, to get tested. If they are positive, they can stay at home and keep family, friends and the community safe. Southern Seven Health Department is working with local lawmakers to bring more mobile test sites to the region. The health department's Community Outreach Coordinator, Shawnna Rhine says, say it will take more testing to fight the spread. "Until there's a vaccine, that's what we have to try to understand how this is being spread," she explains. "Once we find out that someone tests positive, then we are able to start contract tracing with them, find out who they have been in contact with, and through quarantine and isolation - help slow that spread." Four mobile testing sites will take place October 23-25th in Alexander, Johnson, Pulaski, and Saline counties; for free. Testing will be taking place at the following locations with no appointment needed:
Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required. Attendees must have a valid phone number to be tested. Arsenal suffered their second loss of the new season at the hands of Manchester City on Saturday. The Blues ran out 1-0 winners at Etihad Stadium thanks to Raheem Sterling's 23rd-minute strike, with the Gunners ultimately missing the chance to put pressure on Premier League leaders Everton. Pep Guardiola won the battle of teacher against pupil as one-time City assistant Arteta failed to mastermind the downfall of his former employers, despite a disciplined performance from the Gunners. Ederson made three superb first-half saves to keep Arsenal at bay, while David Luiz and Nicolas Pepe both wasted good opportunities from free-kicks in the second period, but the home side always seemed in control of proceedings.
