A man pulled a gun and fired two shots into the air after being denied entry into the Chula Vista Brewery early Sunday, police said.

About 13 minutes after midnight, a group of people arrived at the brewery near the intersection of Third Avenue and F Street but were denied entry by security because they were carrying drinks, said Chula Vista police Lt. David Oyos.

Two men in the party got into an altercation with brewery security. One of the men pulled out a gun and fired two shots into the air. The men left the scene by time police arrived.

Oyos said the incident was captured on video. Descriptions of the men were not immediately released.

The brewery announced on its Facebook page it would close Sunday to reflect on what happened and consider additional safety measures. It may ban patrons with gang tattoos, according to the business’ Facebook page.
