LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Both Linkhorne Elementary and Linkhorne Middle Schools went on restricted entry and exit following a report of a gunshot on Monday afternoon.
According to Lynchburg City Schools, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the schools were placed on restricted entry and exit after a school staff member reported what they thought sounded like a gunshot in the area.
Police investigated the area and nothing was found and the restricted entry and exit status was lifted at 4:20 p.m., according to LCS.

Lynchburg City Schools says all students and employees are safe, and after-school activities at Linkhorne Middle will resume as normal.
