FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas defensive back Jarques McClellion is the latest Razorback to announce he will transfer from the program.
McClellion, a cornerback from Lake Worth, Fla., announced Saturday he “will forgo the 2021 NFL Draft” and enter the NCAA transfer portal. He is the third of Arkansas’ 2020 opt-outs to announce intentions to transfer since Wednesday.
Offensive lineman Chibueze Nwanna and wide receiver Shamar Nash went public with their decisions on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
“Thank you for everything,” McClellion wrote in a note posted to his Twitter account. “Coming to Arkansas from Florida has been nothing short of a dream. I’ve built relationships that will last me a lifetime at this great University.
“I’ve created bonds with my brothers on the teams for the past 3 years that will never be broken. Razorback nation, Thank you for all the incredible memories. I love you guys more than you will ever know.”
McClellion played in all 24 games for the Razorbacks during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, earning 20 starts. He finished his Arkansas career with 59 total tackles, 11 pass breakups and one interception.
McClellion was a consensus three-star prospect out of high school and initially signed with the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Florida, Louisville, Michigan State and numerous other programs.
