Reports: EU to Reconsider Entry Ban on Non-Vaccinated US Travelers - Travel Market Report

The European Union next week will review the list of states from which non-essential travel is allowed and could reconsider the inclusion of the United States, according to reports in Reuters and Bloomberg, citing EU officials.

However, the restrictions would reportedly only apply to non-vaccinated Americans. Those who are fully inoculated would still be permitted to travel.

According to the sources, the U.S. no longer meets the conditions to be part of the list, after an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. The threshold to be included in the EU’s list of epidemiologically safe countries is no more than 75 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the previous 14 days.

The U.S. was added to the safe list on June 18.

Last week, White House officials revealed that the administration is working on a plan to require international visitors to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Foreign travel restrictions are still in place because of the rising infection rate caused by the Delta variant.
