They were dominant. They were as dynamic of a duo the Green Bay Packers ever had in the secondary.
Thus it was only right that Charles Woodson and Al Harris entered the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame together.
Their ceremony was delayed a year thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic but much like in their playing days, the two found a way to get it done. It’s been a big year for Woodson in particular as around a month ago, he was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as well. In other words, Woodson was one of the best to ever do it.
When both he and Harris were on the Packers, opposing offenses stood no chance. Harris arrived in Green Bay in 2003 and Woodson three years later in 2006. They eventually formed an incredible tandem that pushed both men to become better players.
Woodson wasn’t thrilled initially about coming to Green Bay but Harris, two years removed from setting a team record in passes defensed, pushed him to become even better than he was and Woodson won defensive player of the year in 2009.
It’s a shame injuries hit Harris at the end of his time in Green Bay and he wasn’t part of the team that won Super Bowl XLV but his time as a Packers was memorable. His defining moment came when his pick-six off Matt “we want the ball and we’re gonna score” Hasselbeck won the Packers the 2004 wild card game against Seattle.
All in all these two were one of if not the best cornerback tandems in Packers history and a pair Jaire Alexander and especially rookie Eric Stokes should look up to. Alexander is a star like Woodson was, he just needs his Harris. Hopefully Stokes is it.

Given how strict the NFL is now calling pass interference, would the aggressiveness that Woodson and Harris showed in Green Bay even be allowed in the current game? Regardless it was a treat to watch both players play at the peak of their powers.

As deep as the group is, there may be some rough waters ahead for the offensive line with a rookie center and likely a rookie right guard. Thankfully Josh Myers and Royce Newman looked fine in preseason but that wasn’t against many starting pass rushers.
