Uruguay and Romania have been removed from Denmark’s list of epidemiologically safe countries, the Danish authorities announced.

According to the press release issued by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrivals from these countries are required to undergo more stringent entry requirements, whereas the Spanish region of Canary Islands and Campania in Italy are placed in the green category, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

“In Spain, the Canary Islands change from yellow to green in the travel guide. The same goes for the Campania region in Italy. This means that Danish travellers – regardless of vaccination status – can travel on holiday without having to be tested on their return to Denmark,” the press release noted.

Travellers reaching Denmark from green countries are completely free of any restrictions if they have been inoculated against COVID-19 with one of the vaccines authorized for use in Denmark or if they were previously infected with the virus.

Arrivals from the yellow countries are also free of entry restrictions if they have been inoculated with the COVID vaccine or recently infected with the virus. Non-vaccinated and those who haven’t recovered from COVID-19 are required to test for COVID-19 once they reach the country.

Currently, the yellow list countries of Denmark includes the folliwing countries:

• Romania
• Ukraine
• Moldova
• Greece
• Spain
• Portugal
• France
• Several Italian regions
• Switzerland
• Austria
• Slovenia
• Croatia
• Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Germany
• Belgium
• Netherlands
• Ireland
• Sweden
• Estonia

Moreover, European countries placed on Denmark’s dark orange list consist of the following:

• Iceland
• Norway
• Finland
• United Kingdom
• Latvia
• Lithuania
• Belarus
• Slovakia

Moreover, unvaccinated and those that haven’t recovered from the virus coming from the orange category countries must undergo a second test after entry and stay self-isolated for ten days.

Green category countries, travellers of which are imposed to follow no restraining entry requirement, including the following countries:

• Czechia
• Poland
• Hungary
• Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (DE)
• Azores, Spain
• Lombardia, Piemonte, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia regions in Italy

According to data by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, 89.6 per cent of the Danish population have received at least the shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 87.6 per cent of the population have been fully vaccinated, as of September 19, which is higher than the EU/EEA average.

The country had recorded 313 new cases in the last 24 hours and two deaths, which accounts for 353,744 cases since the outbreak of the pandemic, the World Health Organization reports.
