Oklahoma City Thunder coach Mark Daigneault has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols, becoming the fifth coach to do so and third in the past two days.
Assistant coach Mike Wilks will serve as acting head coach Tuesday night against the Kings.
Daigneault joins the Los Angeles Lakers' Frank Vogel, Chicago Bulls' Billy Donovan, Portland Trail Blazers' Chauncey Billups and Phoenix Suns' Monty Williams as head coaches in the league's COVID-19 protocols.
In addition to Daigneault, Thunder rookie Josh Giddey, who leads the team in rebounds and assists, and veteran Derrick Favors also entered the protocols Tuesday. Oklahoma City has six players currently out due to COVID-19 issues: Giddey, Favors, Darius Bazley, Tre Mann, Aleksej Pokusevski and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.
