| “ゲームギアミクロ”インタビュー。キーパーソンに訊くコンセプト＆収録ソフト選定の経緯 - ファミ通.com Posted: 02 Jun 2020 10:31 PM PDT "ゲームギアミクロ"インタビュー。キーパーソンに訊くコンセプト＆収録ソフト選定の経緯 - ファミ通.com （本当は）ずっと盛りだくさんだった60周年企画のひとつゲームギアミクロが、セガ60周年を記念して発売されることが明らかとなった。当時の思い出もさることながら、見ればあまりのミクロさに度肝を抜かれるだろう。これはいったいどのような経緯で企画されたのか。ということで、3密を避けるこの状況下、遠隔で対話可能なZoomでセガ宮崎氏と奥成氏に話をうかがった。おのおの自宅からリラックスしてユニークなバーチャル背景を背負いつつご登場。距離感の近いインタビューとなった。 宮崎浩幸氏（みやざき ひろゆき） 新生セガの、ジャパン事業部副事業部長。セガを愛し、セガに愛された漢。（文中は宮崎） 奥成洋輔氏（おくなり ようすけ） セガの社員でありながら熱狂的なセガファンでもある。メガドライブミニを成功に導いた中心人物。（文中は奧成）   宮崎氏の画策でめでたく部署異動？――ゲームギアミクロは、どのようなタイミングで発案されたものなのでしょうか。 奥成もともとはセガ60周年事業の一環でした。「ふだんとは少し違うものを」とグループの社員全体で考えていたときに、グッズを企画販売している営業部の物販チームがメガドライブミニの設計にも参加したセガトイズに出させたアイデアだったんです。"ロボピッチャJr." （※1） なんて案もあったんですが（笑）。 ――話によっては、ロボピッチャやジリオン（※2）になっていたかもしれないと（笑）。 奥成そうですね（笑）。ですが、ゲームギアは2020年10月6日で発売30周年になるので、それでセガ60周年を祝おうという話で物販チームが非常に盛り上がったんです。 ――うまくキリのいい数字が重なりましたね。 奥成それが、僕がメガドライブミニを作った後のことで。座席が物販チームの隣りということもあって、あれこれ相談に乗っているうちにメガドライブミニだけでなくゲームギアミクロにも前のめりになって（笑）。気がついたら開発自体に参加していました。そして、その手引きをしていたのが宮崎です（笑）。 ※1 … 1984年発売のおもちゃのピッチングマシン（Jr.とすることで、その復刻版を指す）。 宮崎いっそ集中して働いてもらおうと、奥成には物販チームに異動してもらいました（笑）。 ――えっ、そうだったんですか？ 奥成はい（笑）。 宮崎僕も去年はメガドライブミニに携わっていたんですが、じつは60周年事業のほうにこそどっぷりと携わっていたんですよね。本当はいろいろとスゴいことが計画されていたんですが。 奥成……お話しても、載せられるのかな？ 宮崎まあ、全部中止になってしまったという。せめて発表だけでもしておけば……（笑）。コロナの騒動が一段落したら、"こんな企画が潰れてしまいました大特集"をやりたい！ 一同 （笑）。 宮崎もちろん、ゲームギアミクロもコロナの影響を受けています。今回の製造は台湾です。でもだんだん製造ラインも回復してきて、なんとか軌道に乗りました。これは奥成が"持ってる"からなのかもしれません。 ――ほかにも目玉がいろいろあったんですね。 宮崎このミクロが生き残ってくれて本当によかったです。でなければ、セガを60年間支えてくださっているユーザーの皆さんに、何もお返しできなくなるところだったので。傍からは何もしていないように見えるかもしれませんが、じつはいろいろ計画していたんですよ。 小さい！ 軽い！――なぜメガドライブミニと同じ"ミニ"ではなく、"ミクロ"なのでしょうか。 奥成早い話任天堂さんをリスペクトしているからですね。メガドライブミニも、任天堂さんがファミコンやスーパーファミコンでやったような縮尺に合わせ、隣りに置いてねと作りました。このミクロは小さくなりすぎましたが（笑）。 一同 （笑）。 宮崎メガドライブミニは、"メガドライブの時代"というテーマで、発売から終わりまでのタイトル群をこれでもかと詰め込んで、"時代を語る"感じで作りました。対して、ゲームギアミクロの基本コンセプトは"ギミック"です。「持ってちょうだい。ほら、かわいいでしょ？ 懐かしいでしょ？ 小ささにびっくりしませんか？」みたいな。ノリがちょっと違うんです。  奥成僕は"遊べるミニチュア"だと思っています。キーホルダーとしてぶら下げるような。この小ささをおもしろがってほしいですね。あとは、デザインを縮小したメガドライブミニとは違い、操作ボタンを大きくするなどのディフォルメもしています。 ――試作品で液晶ディスプレイの大きさを拝見して、「これで『シャイニング・フォース』とかやるのか!?」と驚きました。老眼なので（笑）。  奥成（笑）。いちおう、開発元のM2さんで40 代と50代の方々に、遊べるかどうかモニターしてもらっています。それで大丈夫だったので、「じゃあRPGも入れよう」となりました（笑）。 ――30年前は10代でも、いまは40代ですからね。 奥成本体が完成していないので絶対的な自信を持ってお話をできませんが、今回もメガドライブミニと同じスタッフが集まり、操作性や画面表示のレスポンスなどを検証していますので。ドリームキャストのビジュアルメモリの方向キーを参考にするなど、過去の経験を踏まえつつ、いちばん操作しやすいものを目指しています。 ――重さはどのくらいになる予定ですか？ 奥成さきほど量ったら、30〜40gでした。これに単4電池2本ぶんの20gが加わりますから、60g弱ぐらいになると思います。 宮崎ヘラクレスオオカブトぐらいだね。 奥成持ったことがない……（笑）。  ――Nintendo Switchの、パッケージを含めたソフト1本分と同じくらいのようです（笑）。 奥成電池の持ち時間は、消費電力を含めて最後まで調整するので未定ですが、できればオリジナルのゲームギアの持ち時間はクリアーしたいですね。あれが単3電池6本で3時間でしたので。 ――長時間遊ぶときはどうするんですか？ 奥成途中で電池が切れそうになると合図が出ますので、まずはセーブしてください。中断セーブも、メガドライブミニ準拠で4ヵ所できます。あとは、USBからも給電できますから、心配な方は電源につないで遊んでいただければ。 ――収録ソフトが16作品ありますが、どのようにして決められたのでしょうか。 奥成これはメガドライブミニに続いて僕が選ばせてもらいました。過去のデータを見て、当時の販売実績や専門誌でのランキング、ニンテンドー3DSでバーチャルコンソールとして配信したときの反響などを参考にしました。 ――本体1個につき、4種類のソフトが収録されたプロセスを聞かせてください。 奥成当初の商品企画は、本体1個につきソフトも1種類でした。それでバリエーションを出そうと考えていましたが、そんなにたくさんのハードをお客さんが買い揃えるというのは無茶だと思い、1個に3種類入ったものを3つのカラーバリエーションで出そうとなったんです。でもそのうち欲が出て、やっぱり4種類入りにしようと（笑）。カラーも4つに増えました。 ――どの本体にも、必ずパズルがパックされているのはなぜでしょうか。 奥成最初は『ソニック』パックとか、『ぷよぷよ』パックみたいな形で、シリーズで揃えたほうが商品としてわかりやすいと思っていたんです。でもそれだと、お客さんはどれを遊んでも同じゲームをしている気持ちになるかもなと。ゲームギアミクロをひとつポケットに入れて「ちょっと遊ぶ」というときに、いろいろ遊べたほうがいいと思い、ジャンルを散らすことにしました。ただ、『シャイニング・フォース』だけは3作品まとめました。これは1、2作目が前後編ですし、お客さんも「オレは『シャイニング』だけ遊びたいんだよ」という方のほうが多いと思いましたので。それに『シャイニング・フォース外伝 ファイナルコンフリクト』だけ別というのも違うかなと。それで箸休めに『なぞぷよ』を遊んでもらおう、という感じにしています。 ――なるほど。箸休めのパズルなんですね。 奥成メガドライブミニで『ランドストーカー』や『ベア・ナックル』目当てで買った方が、意外にずっと『テトリス』や『コラムス』だけやっているという声をけっこう見かけまして（笑）。やっぱりいちばん手軽に遊べるのがパズルなんですよね。とはいえ、パズルだけが入っている本体はなかなか手に取りにくいものなので、今回のような形に収まりました。  ――サウンドはどう再現されていますか？ 奥成オリジナル通りです。最初は本体スピーカーで鳴るだけでしたが、「ゲームギアはステレオ音源だから、ヘッドホンがなきゃダメだよ」と言って、価格は上がったんですがヘッドホン端子が付きました。メニュー画面では新曲が流れますが、それはお楽しみにということで（笑）。 ――メガドライブミニのように、古代祐三さんが書き下ろされているんでしょうか。 奥成今回はChibi-Techさんという、M2のサウンドスタッフにお願いしました。これまでもSEGA AGES版の『アウトラン』や『ファンタジーゾーン』で新曲を書いてくださっていて、チップチューンでは定評のある方です。 ――発売が楽しみです。いろいろ中止になった企画がある中、実現されてよかったです。 宮崎60周年というタイミングに、たまたまゲームギアミクロというハードを企画していてよかったです。セガはいまコンテンツプロバイダですが、過去はハードメーカーだったということがDNAの中にあり、それを未来に残していけますから。ただやっぱり今回は、手に取った方に「ちっちぇえー！」と言わせることができたら僕はもうだいたい満足です。昔、ゲームギアってゲームボーイと比べて重かったでしょ？ ポケットにも入らなくて。でも、今回のは軽い！ 4個まるごとポケットに入りますから！（笑） 奥成メガドライブミニを楽しんでもらえたファミ通の読者さんなら、必ずおもしろがってもらえるアイテムですので。ぜひビッグウィンドーミクロ付きの4種セットとか、セガストアDXパックも購入の選択肢として考えていただいて……。そうした皆さんの反響しだいで、僕のつぎの仕事が決まります！（笑） ゲームギアミクロ コンプリートの購入はこちら (Amazon.co.jp)ゲームギアミクロ ブラックの購入はこちら (Amazon.co.jp)ゲームギアミクロ ブルーの購入はこちら (Amazon.co.jp)ゲームギアミクロ イエローの購入はこちら (Amazon.co.jp)ゲームギアミクロ レッドの購入はこちら (Amazon.co.jp)セガ60周年関連記事2020-06-03 04:00:00Z https://news.google.com/__i/rss/rd/articles/CBMiMWh0dHBzOi8vd3d3LmZhbWl0c3UuY29tL25ld3MvMjAyMDA2LzAzMTk5NTM0Lmh0bWzSATRodHRwczovL3d3dy5mYW1pdHN1LmNvbS9uZXdzL2FtcC8yMDIwMDYvMDMxOTk1MzQucGhw?oc=5  |

| Denver police cite 54 during Monday’s George Floyd protest - Loveland Reporter-Herald Posted: 02 Jun 2020 10:08 PM PDT  Denver police arrested 54 people during Monday protests in downtown Denver with most of the citations coming from curfew violations. Thousands of people took to the streets for the fifth day to protest the death of George Floyd, who died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes. They scoffed at Mayor Michael Hancock's decision to impose a 9 p.m. curfew on the city and to extend it through Friday evening. Several hundred people stayed on the streets until nearly midnight when police officers deployed tear gas to disperse them. Six of the 54 arrested were cited for crimes other than a curfew violation; those crimes included public fighting, carrying a concealed weapon and curfew violation. Three arrested were juveniles. | Peggy Pope Dies: ‘9 To 5’, ‘Soap’ & Broadway Actress Was 91 - Deadline Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:48 PM PDT  Peggy Pope, who played a secretary in the 1980 movie 9 to 5, appeared in dozens of TV series and acted on Broadway, has died. She was 91. Her family said Pope died May 27 in Fort Collins, CO, but did not give a cause of death. Born Florence Pope on May 15, 1929, in Montclair, NJ, she began her long career on Broadway in the late 1950s, appearing in small roles in a handful of short-lived plays. She ultimately would appear in seven Main Stem shows through 1975, including the 1970 revival of Harvey, for which James Stewart reprised his Oscar-nominated lead role as Elwood P. Dowd from the 1950 film. By 1966, she was working in TV and made a couple of big-screen appearances in the early '70s. In 1973, she landed a series-regular role in Calucci's Department, a CBS sitcom starring James Coco that lasted only a couple of months. Six years later, Pope scored another regular TV role in Billy, a CBS sitcom in which she was the mother of the title character played by Steve Guttenberg. It too lasted only a few months. Pope also appeared on such popular TV series as Rhoda, Barnaby Jones, Mork & Mindy, Eight Is Enough, Barney Miller, Hill Street Blues, Knots Landing. St. Elsewhere, Night Court, Too Close for Comfort, The Golden Girls, ER and multiple Law & Order series. She also recurred on Soap. But she probably is best known for her role in 9 to 5, the popular 1980 comedy starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton and Dabney Coleman. She played Margaret, one of the secretaries alongside Parton's Doralee who was known to tip the bottle and exclaim "Attagirl!" Football's governing body has urged national associations to adopt a common-sense approach when dealing with on-pitch protests and demonstrations amid the civil unrest in the United States. Borussia Dortmund duo Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakimi displayed 'Justice for George Floyd' messages when celebrating goals during a Bundesliga victory over Paderborn on Sunday. Schalke's Weston McKennie sported an armband with the same message and Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram took a knee after scoring against Union Berlin. Those incidents came after Floyd died in police custody in Minneapolis last week, sparking demonstrations and riots in the U.S. and beyond. Sancho was booked for removing his shirt, while Hakimi, McKennie and Thuram received no on-field punishment in relation to their tributes. However, the German Football Association (DFB) said it would examine the incidents to see whether sanctions were necessary. FIFA says competition organisers must "have in consideration the context surrounding the events" before deciding to punish any such on-field incidents going forward. Infantino went further by suggesting it would go against FIFA's anti-discrimination and anti-violence campaigns to take action against the likes of Sancho. "For the avoidance of doubt, in a FIFA competition the recent demonstrations of players in Bundesliga matches would deserve an applause and not a punishment," he said in a statement. Protests continue to form across the US and the world after footage of a white police officer kneeling on George Floyd's neck emerged last week. It has often appeared to be the case, from social media videos at least, that police are playing an active role in escalating violence with protesters. Now footage has emerged of scenes which look like a "warzone" in Seattle.Police were filmed firing flash bangs and tear gas to break up a crowds of demonstrators on a baseball field in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood of the city.Shockingly, a journalist and her crew were among those hit with flying canisters as police advanced.The frightening video footage shows Jo Ling Kent reporting live on the air of the cable news channel late on Monday night, when police moved towards an area packed with demonstrators. As Kent begins her report, several flash bangs are heard exploding in the background. Kent, who is wearing a gas mask, describes the chaotic scene unfolding on the baseball field.
As Kent finishes the sentence, a flash bang explodes inches from her and appears to hit her arm. Thankfully, it doesn't look like Kent or any of her team were harmed.But there were lots of other people seen fleeing the scene as the chaos escalated rapidly.The footage emerges as Seattle's police watchdog, the Office of Professional Accountability, said it was investigating 10 alleged incidents of aggressive behaviour by police. These include reports of police pepper spraying a young girl and punching a person on the ground who was being arrested. Two New York Police Department cars ramming demonstrators. Police using batons, bicycles and car doors as weapons. These are becoming defining images of the protests against police brutality of black people that have swept the nation, sparked by the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Countless videos of these moments have been shared on social media. Among the most-seen of them: a compilation video created on Saturday. Jordan Uhl, a political consultant and activist in Washington, D.C., wanted to make sure as many people saw these videos as possible. Encouraged by a friend, he edited together 14 clips, including one from a reporter at The New York Times of an officer accelerating and opening a car door that hit protesters. The result is a two-minute, 13-second supercut that he called "This Is a Police State." As of Monday night, the video had amassed more than 45 million views from Mr. Uhl's tweet alone. After he posted a Dropbox link so that anyone could download and share the video, it garnered tens of millions more views. (For context, the video that the birder Christian Cooper recorded of Amy Cooper in Central Park has been viewed 44 million times on Twitter. The viral disinformation video "Plandemic," which traveled across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram last month, was viewed more than eight million times after just over a week online.) "So many people were posting it to IGTV and Stories and tagging me," Mr. Uhl, 32, said. "I can't even keep track of how many people are sharing it." He said his intention was to signal-boost the experiences of the protesters and said he made limited intervention in the footage. "I trimmed some of the videos down for time," Mr. Uhl said, adding that he "didn't even color correct." He did, however, add the Twitter handles of the original posters, for credit. He views the video, focusing solely on what appear to be police misdeeds, as a corrective to what he believes to be an emphasis on covering looting and property damage by media. "I wanted to push back and show how the main story should be that, in response to a mass mobilization against police brutality, the police responded with more brutality," Mr. Uhl said. "People are deeply unwilling to acknowledge the abuse from police," he continued, noting that "the passive language used for police versus the active language used for protesters demonstrate our society's unwillingness to confront systemic injustice imposed by police." Those whose footage appears in the compilation video said they were glad to see their individual clips put into broader context. Alison Sul, a 21-year-old protester in Texas, said that her video had already been viewed 2.9 million times, but Mr. Uhl's video provided a new audience. "The more people who see this stuff, the more accountable the police are going to have to be," said Nate Igor Smith, 40, a photographer in Brooklyn. "It doesn't seem to matter which city you're in, you're seeing a lot of the same things happening. I think having one video where you can see things from so many different cities is powerful," said Arlen Parsa, 33, a documentary filmmaker in Chicago. "It tells a larger story than just what's happening in one city." Mutale Nkonde, a fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, said that Mr. Uhl's video "really reinforces that black protests, white protests and all social justice protests generally are not violent in nature. It moves us away from the 'there are bad people on both sides' or 'there are good people on both sides' argument and really highlights law enforcement's aggressive attitude toward black people displaying their rights." "When there's one clip you can turn away, when there's two you start to get a better picture, when you see so many examples it's impossible to ignore them as anomalies," said Guthrie Graves-Fitzsimmons, 30, an author in Kentucky who is credited in the video. The Premier League has been suspended since March because of the coronavirus pandemic but will kick-off again on June 17, and clubs are looking to play friendly games either in their stadiums or training grounds to step up their preparation. Clubs have accepted several restrictions suggested by the Premier League, as first reported by The Telegraph and confirmed by Goal, including clubs being forbidden from travelling more than 90 minutes from their home grounds, as well as players having to travel to games in their own cars and coaching staff officiating matches instead of referees. There will be a full risk assessment of every venue before the friendlies are played, while the Premier League will consider allowing teams, such as Newcastle and Norwich, to travel further if they are based too far away from others. Furthermore, players will only be allowed to take part in games if recent Covid-19 tests have turned out negative and clubs will have to make plans for parking "to ensure that social distancing is maintained at all times and all unnecessary congestion or congregation is eliminated". Some Premier League teams have already contacted Championship sides, who will be issued guidance from the English Football League later this week, to arrange friendlies ahead of the top flight's return in just over two weeks. Many Premier League players have found the return to full training difficult, with Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud revealing that "almost all" of the squad got blisters after practice, while some have warned there will be plenty of injuries once games kick off again. "The simple fact is that [players'] bodies are not used to tolerating the level of load that is going to be demanded of them when they go back," former Liverpool physio Andy Renshaw told Goal last week . "As a result of everything – the reduced strength, reduced endurance – the players' proprioceptive levels are reduced as well, so you could well see an increase in the more serious kind of ligament injuries, including Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries."
