新型コロナウイルスに感染し、自宅療養を続けていたフリーアナウンサー赤江珠緒（45）が8日、パーソナリティーを務めるTBSラジオ「赤江珠緒たまむすび」（月～金曜午後1時）に復帰した。4月9日以来、約2カ月ぶりの出演となった。

赤江アナは、4月18日に新型コロナ検査で陽性と診断されたことを発表。同25日に入院し、5月6日の同番組に退院を報告するメッセージを寄せていた。

赤江アナの周辺では、テレビ朝日系報道番組「報道ステーション」の総合演出を務める夫も新型コロナに感染。夫の発症直後から、感染者家族の立場で情報発信を続けた。赤江アナは子どもの養育など共働き世帯の家族が直面する現実について問題提起し、入院中も同局「荻上チキ・Session－22」（月～金曜午後10時）にメッセージを寄せ、自身が投与された「アビガン」について医療関係者に取材した内容を伝えていた。

Harry Potter's Cho Chang actress Katie Leung definitely disagrees with author J.K. Rowling's anti-trans comments, and she's not afraid to let people know. Leung made her feature film debut in 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Cho Chang, the Ravenclaw student who becomes the object of Harry's (Daniel Radcliffe) affections. While Harry and Cho's relationship would properly start and end in the franchise's fifth installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Leung would make appearances in the remaining three films. She was one of the few people of color to appear in the Harry Potter films, a fact that has come under greater scrutiny in recent years.

Rowling made headlines this weekend for posting a series of tweets that were decidedly anti-transgender. This began when she responded to an article with the headline "Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate" by saying "People who menstruate.' I'm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?" When fans were quick to respond with explanations for why that was a transphobic thing to say, Rowling doubled-down on her statement with a series of tweets. This is not the first time Rowling has made anti-trans statements, and it is certainly not the first time she's been the subject of backlash.

Leung responded to Rowling's comments by not actually mentioning the author at all. Instead, Leung began a thread with "So, you want my thoughts on Cho Chang? Okay, here goes..." The thread, which was composed of six tweets in total, contained pro-trans organizations, funds, and petitions for fans to access. Leung concluded this by simply writing, "#AsiansForBlackLives."

Rowling's comments came one week into Pride Month, a time when the LGBTQ community celebrates and makes further pushes for acceptance and representation. This year in particular, many have put a spotlight on black LGBTQ folks in light of the recent Black Lives Matter protests, which have drawn some comparisons to the 1969 Stonewall riots. Throughout all this, Rowling has insisted she is supportive of the trans community, but her comments continue to reinforce the fact that she hardly understands it and seems to have no inclination to do so.

More so in recent years, Rowling has come under fire for her problems with providing greater representation in the Harry Potter franchise. Some fans have cited the issues in naming an Asian character "Cho Chang," which is likely what fans were trying to get Leung to comment on when she began her pro-trans thread. Additionally, fans are frustrated with the lack of LGBTQ characters within the Wizarding World, a hot topic that continues to boil over into the Fantastic Beasts prequel films. As of the time of this writing, Rowling hasn't walked back her anti-trans comments. Still, Leung's obvious disapproval of those comments might offer some comfort to those who were burned by Rowling's stance.

志尊淳、医療従事者に「志尊の自粛部屋」収益1000万円を寄付 - モデルプレス

俳優の志尊淳が、自身のInstagramにおいて新型コロナウイルスによる外出自粛期間中にインスタライブを中心にスタートした「志尊の自粛部屋」プロジェクトの収益から日本赤十字社と共同募金会へあわせて1000万円を寄付することを報告した。

志尊は4月末より、コロナウイルスによる外出自粛期間中に、今自分が出来ることはなにかを考え、自身のInstagramにおいて「志尊の自粛部屋」という企画をスタート。今回、そのプロジェクトより生まれた楽曲とグッズの売り上げの一部から、医療従事者の方々に向けて寄付を行うことにした。

「志尊の自粛部屋」インスタ生配信からスタート

「志尊の自粛部屋」は当初、「4月23日より30日まで毎日23時ごろ生配信する」という目標を立て、自室から日々自分の体温を測り健康状態を報告したり、ファンの質問にリアルタイムで答えたりとインスタライブを行っていた。リモートでもファンとの距離を近くに感じられるような配信を心がけ、最大12万人が同時視聴するという企画となった。

そんな「志尊の自粛部屋」から、ファンとのふれあいをきっかけとした企画として、楽曲「きぼうのあしおと」の制作と配信、志尊本人がオールプロデュースしたオリジナルTシャツの制作など、この自粛期間でなければ生まれ得なかった様々な取り組みが実現した。

楽曲「きぼうのあしおと」は、今感じていること、言葉にしたいこと、やりたいこと"今の想いを聞かせてほしい"とファンに呼びかけ、ファンの気持ちを歌詞に紡ぎ 「志尊と歩む」というテーマのもと、叔父の宮崎歩氏の協力を得て制作。本楽曲はワタナベエンターテインメント公式YouTubeチャンネルにも動画を掲載し、現在再生回数52万回を超えている。その反響を受け、先月5月28日にiTunes、moraで楽曲配信を行い、当日には両方の最新総合ランキングで1位を獲得した。

また、「志尊の自粛部屋」でファンの方と話す中で"家族や仲間、友達、ファンのみんなで着られるTシャツを作りたい！"という想いが溢れ、デザインからカラーのセレクトまで、志尊がオールプロデュースしたオリジナルTシャツも誕生。予約販売を行っていたが、好評につき一部在庫が用意できなくなるほどの予想を上回る反響が届いた。

「志尊の自粛部屋」のもととなる"今自分ができること"という思い。そんな思いで、医療従事者の方々へ感謝の気持ちと支援として、楽曲配信、オリジナルグッズ収益の一部より、日本赤十字社と共同募金会へ合わせて1000万円を寄付することにした。（modelpress編集部）

この状況下の中で、日々"自分にできる事はなんだろうか"ということを考えていました。その中で、家で自粛生活を送っている方々、最前線で戦ってくださっている方々等に少しでも笑ってもらえて、気が楽になってもらえるような事を自分ができたらなと思い、始めたのが、インスタライブ 、志尊の自粛部屋です。

始めてみると、そこには本当に素敵な方々と素敵な笑顔が溢れていました。何かの役に立ちたいという思いから出発しましたが、逆に僕が応援してくださっている 方々から日々笑顔を頂いていました。この企画を大きく広げ、支えて下さった皆様に、この場を借りて感謝申し上げます。ありがとうございました。

お笑いコンビ、ペナルティのワッキー（47）が中咽頭がんの治療のため一時休養することが明らかになり、芸人仲間やサッカー関係者らがエールを送った。

品川庄司の庄司智春は7日、ツイッターで「俺が知ってるワッキーさんは強い。めちゃくちゃ強い。だから圧倒的に勝って帰ってくるよ。マジで。愛してるよ！　脇田さん！」とつづり、品川祐も「ワッキーさん。元気になって帰ってきて」とエールを送った。

ワッキーと同じくサッカー芸人として知られる平畠啓史は「ワッキーが元気になって戻ってきた時に、思いっきり楽しくJリーグの話ができるように準備しておきます。待ってるぞ、ワッキー！」とツイート。浦和レッズDF槙野智章は「ペナルティ　ワッキーさん　更に強く、面白くなって帰ってくるのを僕たちは待ってます!!　帰ってきた時に、また熱い話しましょうよ!!」とメッセージを送り、Jリーグ副チェアマンの原博実氏は「ワッキーさんお大事に　またJリーグTVでJリーグを熱く語って下さい　その日を楽しみに待っています」と呼びかけた。

Barack and Michelle Obama and tons of big-name celebrities turned out Sunday to virtually salute the high school class of 2020.

Though several speeches in YouTube's "Dear Class of 2020" livestream were filmed before Black Lives Matters protests broke out across the country following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody, a handful of celebrities focused on praising young activists for their role in pushing for change. 

Lizzo opened with a flute rendition of "Pomp and Circumstance," accompanied by the New York Philharmonic, as images on the green screen behind her displayed images from Black Lives Matter protests. 

Alicia Keys praised the younger generation for "inspiring the world to see our collective humanity" through protests, calling on everyone to "empathize with those who seem different on the surface." 

"Right now, it might feel like there's not a lot to celebrate, and that's OK," she said. "You're not thinking about your time at school. You're thinking about marching and protesting and making sure your voices are being heard. … You're taking your heartbreak and your outrage and turning it into action.

"I see you. You're unstoppable," she told graduates.

Barack and Michelle Obama congratulated students for their 'long journey'

The Obamas appeared together in a video from their home, celebrating a "huge day for all of you," as the former first lady put it. 

The Obamas congratulated students on not just completing their academic journey, but doing so while figuring out how to support their teachers, friends and family through unprecedented circumstances. And above all, they advised graduates to make sure to properly celebrate their accomplishments, and to thank their parents for helping them succeed. 

"Today is the culmination of a long journey," Barack said. "Just as you were rounding the final turn, the world threw a pandemic your way. … That's a lot to ask of anybody, but despite all that, here you are." 

Michelle Obama joined the livestream again later to address protests in the U.S., calling attention to the country's long history of racism and calling on graduates to encourage their peers to vote and learn more about their local elections. 

"What's happening right now is the direct result of decades of unaddressed prejudice and inequality," she said. "For too many people in this country, no matter how hard they work, there are structural barriers for them that just make the road longer and rockier. … If you can't even approach the police without fearing for your life, well, then how do you even begin to chart your own course?"

She added later: "Not only can you do better than those who came before you, but you will."

Beyoncé told grads 'change starts with you'

Beyoncé, too, praised young people for their role in raising their voices in response to Floyd's death and called for more black female voices in the music industry. 

"You have arrived here in the middle of a global crisis, a racial pandemic and worldwide expression of outrage at the senseless killing of yet another unarmed black human being. And you still made it," she said. "Thank you for using your collective voice in letting the world know that Black Lives Matter." 

The music icon added: "We've seen that our collective hearts, when put to positive action, can start the wheels of change. Real change has started with you. … Your queerness is beautiful. Your blackness is beautiful. Your compassion, your understanding, your fight for people who may be different from you is beautiful."

Lady Gaga called for a brand new forest

Gaga said she had recorded her "Dear Class of 2020" speech two weeks ago and it had to be rewritten.

"My speech was recorded before the murder of George Floyd, and the subsequent activist movement protesting police brutality and systemic racism in this country," said Gaga, wearing a black leather vest with metal spikes.

Gaga said there is "much to be sad about, there is much to be celebrated. You are watching what is a pivotal moment in this country's evolution. You're watching society change in a deeply important way."

Gaga, her voice breaking with emotion, said she thinks of racism in America as a forest.

"I imagine a broad forest filled densely with tall trees – trees as old as this country itself, trees planted with racist seeds, trees that grew prejudiced branches and oppressive leaves and mangled roots that buried and entrenched themselves deep within the soil forming a web so well developed and so entangled."

"This forest is where we live, it's who we are," she said, inviting graduates to challenge that existing forest. "I believe in my heart that the people that are going to make this change happen are listening to me speak right now."

"It's you who are the seeds of the future" for a "new and different forest."

Gaga concluded saying, "Congratulations to the class of 2020; I can't wait to see your forest."

Condoleezza Rice, Jenna Bush invoked passion, life rules

Rice, the former Secretary of State, spoke during the "challenging, sometimes tragic, unprecedented times."

But she urged youth to look forward to a brighter future. After growing up in Alabama in the Jim Crow era with dreams of becoming a concert pianist, Rice talked about finding passion despite any circumstances.

"My plea to you: Don't let anyone you tell you that you can't be passionate about something because of the color of your skin, or your gender, or circumstances from which you came," said Rice. "It is your passion, work for it, embrace it, and it will pay dividends in life."

Rice said have "faith the future will be better than where we are today."

Bush invoked her grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush, who had a list of rules in life which included, "Don't get down when life takes a bad turn; don't blame others for your setbacks," and "As you succeed, be kind to people along the way."

"Class of 2020, create your own list of rules," Bush said, "The world will be better because of you."

Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley combined to read 'Oh, the Places You'll Go!'

"Star Wars" actors Hamill and Ridley read portions of the classic Dr. Seuss story "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"

"Even one story can inspire the world. Why can't it be yours?" said Hamill. After completing the story, the Jedi said, "With that, your training is older; now go forth and become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."

And if the path is not foreseen at this point, Hamill said, "Don't force it"

"The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams spoke afterwards saying, "When life is hard, that is when true character reveals itself. Stay strong, stay positive and stay inspired. Because a great story can inspire the world."

Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Liza Koshy, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Shawn Mendes also joined in on the congratulations. Other guests teased to join later in the broadcast include Jennifer Lopez, Malala Yousafzai, Missy Elliott, Tom Hanks, BTS, Michael B. Jordan, the cast of "Schitt's Creek," Billie Eilish, Katy Perry and John Mulaney. 

Obama's closing: 'Make it mean something'

Barack Obama returned at the end of the broadcast for final words to the graduating class. "Yours comes as the world turned upside down, by a pandemic, and a country swept up by protest. I can barely imagine how head-spinning these months have been for you."

He said the peaceful protesters were "unbelievably inspiring. You make me optimistic about our future" because "the old normal wasn't good enough."

Obama called for graduating students to serve society, use technology and social media wisely, to keep faith in democracy – by voting and protesting. "After all, we are a nation founded on protest." 

"America changed, has always changed, because young people dared to hope," said Obama. "Congratulations Class of 2020. Make it mean something, and keep making us proud."

Katy Perry, wearing a white gown that highlighted her pregnant baby bump, then instructed the graduating class to move their mortarboard tassels from right to left, signifying the end of the ceremony. Perry belted her songs "Daisies" and  "Firework."

The broadcast was intended to give graduating high school seniors a proper sendoff since many graduation ceremonies around the country have been delayed or canceled by the coronavirus pandemic.

"Dear Class of 2020" had been set to livestream Saturday, but organizers pushed it back a day so it wouldn't conflict with Floyd's memorial service.

　８日放送のフジテレビ系「とくダネ！」（月～金曜・前８時）では、お笑いコンビ「ペナルティ」のワッキー（４７）が初期の中咽頭がん（ステージ１）の治療のため、８月末まで一時休養することについて報じた。

　ワッキーは医師と相談し、外科手術は行わず、放射線化学療法での治療を選択。都内の病院に８日に入院して治療に専念。７月下旬に退院し、８月いっぱいは療養する予定。

　フリーアナウンサーの小倉智昭氏（７３）は「ワッキーさんはいつも体を鍛えていて、いかにも健康そうなイメージじゃないですか。そういうのと病気っていうのは全く関係ないってことですよね」と驚き、回復を祈っていた。

Everton's Jonjoe Kenny has earned the trust of Schalke boss Jonjoe Kenny and he gave the Bundesliga side a terrific and necessary goal on Sunday.

With Schalke winless since January and mustering only two Weston McKennie goals in its previous 10 matches.

Union Berlin led 1-0 and was largely controlling play with a 7-0 shot advantage when Schalke moved quickly off a relatively non-threatening throw-in.

Kenny collected the ball on the right, yards outside the 18, and lashed a rocket across goal and past a flying Rafael Gikiewicz.

Schalke's scored just six goals since Christmas including Kenny's marker.

It's the 23-year-old right back's second goal to go with three assists in 30 matches on loan from Goodison Park.

TikTok artist assaulted in viral video - Hindustan Times

A video in which a man with a shrouded face and a pistol is seen assaulting and threatening a teenaged TikTok artist surfaced on social media on Saturday, prompting the Delhi Police to identify the place of the incident and register a case.

The police said that the incident took place on June 3 in a village in southwest Delhi's Chhawla, where the 17-year-old TikTok artist lives with his family. The man who assaulted and threatened him with a gun has a criminal history and is said to be an associate of another criminal, who is lodged in a Gurugram jail in connection with a 2018 murder case. Investigators are looking for the attacker and his associate who recorded the incident on his cellphone, the police said.

The police added that they have come across a few facts, one of which may be the reason for the assault and intimidation.

"There could be several reasons for which he was assaulted—he had made a TikTok video in which he posed as a woman; he had stopped his friend from uploading a particular photograph as his social media profile picture (the friend is posing with the jailed criminal in the photograph); he is friends with a girl," a police officer, requesting anonymity, said.

In the 45-second video, a man, wearing a pair of shorts and covering his face with a white towel, is seen holding the boy by the collar and threatening him in Haryanvi. He refers to a TikTok video while pointing the gun at him. Another man, who has been identified as the boy's cousin, arrives and asks the man what the issue is.

The boy is seen apologising after the man asks him to do so. "Sorry bol dobara (Apologise again)", the man says in the video as he slaps the boy a couple of times and asks him to leave.

The person who uploaded the video on social media also sought police action, saying that the teenager did not file police complaint out of fear.

Deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said that a case of threatening, common intention and use of firearms has been registered under sections 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 25 of the Arms Act.

"We are looking for the two suspects. They will be caught soon," the DCP added.

BTS Shares Refreshingly Honest and Hopeful Messages to 2020 Graduates - E! NEWS

BTS lent their voices in more ways than one to celebrate 2020 graduates.

In the last few months, high school and college students have had to quickly adjust their graduation plans due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. So it's no surprise that YouTube brought some of the biggest stars in entertainment together to give students a ceremony to remember.

On that list? BTS. The K-Pop group—which consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V: The Series and Jung Kook—shared words of encouragement with viewers tuning into YouTube's "Dear Class of 2020" virtual livestream.

"Dear class of 2020, it's been a strange year so far but you made it," RMS began his speech. "Today we might not have flowers, we might not have graduation caps, but what we do have is possibly the most special graduation ceremony in history."

"Never before have so many gathered to celebrate the graduating class for their achievements and their dreams. You could be watching us from your bed or your living room alone, or with somebody," he continued. "Wherever you are, you will all soon be breaking out of one world to soar into another."

RM shared a heartwarming story about his own middle school graduation from 10 years ago.

"I remember that day clearly and kept it as my messenger profile for the rest of my school years. On that day, I was just a boy who had closed just one chapter, ready to pen another," he expressed. "I remember that feeling. It's really thrilling, breathtaking. It was a moment I felt most like me... A feeling I wanted to hold on to forever."

He added, "So as a fellow individual in his twenties, all the way from Seoul Korea, I want to say congratulations. We're very excited for what lies ahead of you. Regardless of where or how far you are, we hope our stories today give you sort of comfort, hope and even a bit of inspiration."

Jung Kook poked fun at RM and quipped that his "graduation is recorded online."

"My fellow BTS members were there throughout all my high school years," he went on. "I remember them saying, 'When did you grow old enough to graduate?' And once the ceremony was over, we went and had Jajangmyeon together. I recently watched that video again and it made me wonder: did that child really grow to become me?"

Jung Kook added, "RM mentioned that he still sees himself in that boy in the graduation picture, but i feel like i've come a very long way. All I've done is continue on but even today I continue to learn new things. So here I stand today with my members, with faith in myself, my members and the world. And I hope you also will do the same for yourself and move forward."

Jin also took a moment to share his own graduation story, which he pointed out was "a little different" from the others.

"My memory of graduation is a little different. It was before my debut as BTS, I was around 20, just a high school graduate going into university.," he began. "Back then, the notion of becoming an adult was something quite scary. [I was] anxious about making my way into an unfamiliar world, I was cautious of everything I said or did."

"Sometimes I'd feel restless watching my friends go on far ahead of me. And attempting to keep up with their speed would only leave me breathless. I soon realized that their pace was not my own," he admitted. "What held me together during those times was a promise I made with myself to take it slow. I'd go at my own pace, steadily. From then on, it became a habit of mine to take time for myself."

Jin shared words of encouragement with students, and told them to not rush their journey.

"If any of you feels lost, in the face of doubt or uncertainty, or the pressure of starting anew, don't rush," he said. "Take a deep breath. You may find that any moment can be turned into an opportunity. Allow yourself to take it easy. Take it one step at a time. You might discover the important things you were missing, and they will reach out to you."

"First, congratulations on your graduation," Jimin opened his speech. "But at the same time, I am worried for everyone. I think about your health and whether you're doing okay, whether you are holding on tight during a time when nothing seems to go as planned, whether your body and mind are all safe and sound."

He said, "I hope you are all doing well, but if things are not okay, even in the slightest, we send you our most sincere consolation with all our hearts."

Giving viewers more hope, he shared, "Remember there is a person here in Korea, in the city of Seoul, who understands you. We are all in different parts of the world, in different environments and circumstances. But in this moment, I hope we can all give each other a warm pat on the back and say, 'It's okay.'"

Suga also shared an inspiring and moving message to students.

"These days, I feel as though I've fallen to the ground during a race. I dust my knees and get up again only to find that there is nobody around,: he said. "It's as though I'm deserted on an island. This might not be the grand finale that you had imagined and a fresh start might seem far away. Please don't be afraid, don't worry yourself. The end and the beginning, the beginning and end are connected."

"Take your hands off what you can't control and get your hands on what you can change," he went on. "As you and I continue on in life, we will find ourselves in so many situations out of our grasp. The only thing we can control is ourselves. Get your hands on the changes you can make, because your possibilities are limitless. After all, I had no idea I would become BTS either."

J-Hope addressed students as well and noted that he's not "much different from all of you."

"At times I feel as though I've reached a dead-end as I perform and make music. Sometimes, my mind is bleached white and I can hardly take another step forward," J-Hope admitted. "It's a regular occurrence as I work. At these times, I think, 'Just this once' and I pick myself back up. I decide to trust myself."

"The next attempt might not be perfect but the second is better than the first and the third is even better than the second. And that is the moment I decide, I'm glad I chose not to give up," he continued. "There will be times in your life when you question your own decisions, whether it be about your major or your profession, whether you have made the right choice, whether you are doing well or walking the path of failure."

"And when you do remember: you are the leader of your own life. And chant it over and over again," he closed. "I can do it. You got it. I can do it well. I can do it better than anybody."

"Many of us are at war with reality right now, but I hope we can take bits of this moment with us, in a photograph or a memo to look back to and remember June of 2020, and how it compares with the new today you will be embracing," V shared.

"In all honesty, I wasn't born with the talents of singing and dancing and wasn't much of the persevering type either," he revealed. "I began later and was lacking in some aspects, but I soon developed a joy and passion for singing and dancing. This joy motivated my persistent efforts and has led me to where I stand today. If there is anyone out there who cannot see where they should be, from here forth I urge you to listen to your heart."

Closing his speech, he reminded students to not lose hope.

"Things may feel a little difficult right now but somewhere out there, luck and opportunity is waiting for you," V said. "I believe that. On that note, I will remember this day. Today may not be my own graduation but I will try to look back upon this day years from now and remember it as a memory to treasure. And I look forward to the day you will stand and tell us your own story."

In addition to BTS' individual speeches, they also performed during the livestream.

Sunday's virtual graduation featured other notable commencement speakers, including Beyoncé, Michelle and Barack Obama, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Malala Yousafzai and so many more stars and public figures.

There were also special appearances by Alicia Keys, Kerry Washington, Zendaya, Jackie Aina and many others. Maluma, Katy Perry, Megan Thee Stallion, Chloe x Halle and others performed as well.

The year 2020 began with great promise.

In numerological terms, the year 2020 represents not just the start of a new decade, but, as a four year (2+0+2+0 =4), it foretells a year of rewards resulting from a lot of  hard work and organization. Traditionally, the four is the year of the builder. Following the creative and sometimes chaotic energies of a three year, the four year crafts stability, clarity, and a strong foundation for long-term successes and accomplishments. In tarot, the symbol of year of the four is the Emperor, the symbol of structure and authority.

In astrological terms, however, the year 2020 sounded a wake-up call, with the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in the sign of Capricorn on January 12.

In the year 2020, we have landed on a trifecta: a viral pandemic, massive economic instability, and social unrest. Each of these exposes authoritarian abuse of existing systems. The combined energies of the January conjunction have exposed the underlying deficiencies that many knew, but few had the power to change.  The climactic symbol of the long-overdue change that needs to happen on a human level rests in the murder of George Floyd.

Being black in the United States of America, a country founded on the principles of freedom, means walking a tightrope between two perceived worlds: the larger white world built by the founding fathers and nurtured by the three branches of congressional, judicial, and executive branch leadership; and the colored reality, constructed and navigated by so many as a means to survive the larger white world. Manny Tejeda-Moreno's recent editorial in The Wild Hunt evinces a stark reminder that the role of skin color in many places puts whites first and those who are not considered white anywhere else.

A recent Nightline broadcast included an interview with four women, two white and two black, and their fears for their children. Three of the four women have biracial children who identify as black due to the color of their skin. All demonstrated concern for their children. As one of these women, Twila Dang, noted:

"The thing that I want most for my kids is for them to be able to walk through the world and just be themselves. In full. Unapologetically. And one of the hardest parts about choosing to be a parent as a black person is knowing that you're going to bring a human into the world who will not have that choice, particularly in America."

As a black woman, I hear that and think of the last words of George Floyd, when he called out "Mama." My heart clenched. In that moment, like every other black woman, I was his mother and I wished that I could do anything to take away the pain of  the knee suffocating the life out of my child.

Every time I hear "Wake Up Everybody" by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes, I remember that what is old is new again. In 1975, the Watergate scandal concludes, the Vietnam war ends, then-President Ford survives two assassination attempts, and the country is in an energy crisis. A country in pain and bearing a painful past can remain hidden for only so long. The murder of George Floyd  produced a seismic eruption through the fissures of society. Black bodies weep at the pain of witnessing the light of life leave the eyes of one more body. I knew 2020 would be rough, but George Floyd's murder has been a cataclysmic explosion.

Living while black has never been more visible in 2020 than through the visceral reaction to a public homicide. The image of the cloth covered knee on the neck of a man gasping to breathe until the spittle dripped from the side of his mouth in lifelessness reflects the unresolved societal pain of racial turmoil, of living while black.

The phrase "I can't breathe," known by many as a cry from Eric Garner, another black man killed when an officer's chokehold triggered a fatal asthma attack in 2014, once again appears on t-shirts, facial coverings, and protest signs for the death of George Floyd.

What makes this an international cry for help, for freedom, for justice, for payback, is the raw emotion on Floyd's face during the eight minutes and 46 seconds that ended his life. His face is the symbol driving protests and long overdue change. In a world where violent movies featuring death are the norm, there is something especially disturbing about seeing a man die who did what every black parent tells a son, especially, to do: show respect, don't resist arrest, stay alive. We never know when we send our children out into the world, be they six years or or 46 years old, if they will encounter evil in the form of a law enforcement officer who thinks of our children as less worthy or less than human.

For those who have watched the video, there is a moment in the officer's eyes when it is clear that he does not see the person beneath his knee as a threat to his power or authority. There is a moment of fear in the officer's eyes when he responds to requests to check Floyd's pulse and to take his knee off Floyd's neck; his response is to use pepper spray on the very bystanders who are trying to save Floyd's life.

They can see, as anyone who watches can see, how George Floyd is struggling to breathe.

When he cries out, "Mama," the heartbeat stops in every black mother who hears it. In that moment, George Floyd's cry for help reaches into the soul of every human who longs for justice. It is the moment that the battle truly appears to be lost. It is the moment that the officer loses his humanity, by ignoring the pleas of the dying and the urgent cries of the bystanders.

George Floyd's crime was, allegedly, an attempt to purchase cigarettes with a counterfeit twenty dollar bill. This was not a violent crime. Floyd may have been intoxicated, but he knew enough to follow the rules of the "talk" that each black child in the United States of America receives before spending much time out in the world. The talk is actually a series of conversations that help the young child or adult navigate the expectations of white America and the larger world.

It should not be necessary in 2020, 52 years after the death of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the end of what is commonly known as the Civil Rights Movement. Despite the outwardly perceived gains for African-Americans in the areas of employment, life expectancy, socio-economic upward mobility, and personal acceptance, the need for the talk remains. Interracial marriage may be accepted in 2020 in a way that it was not in 1968, but that does not change the two society system that remains for many black folk and people of color.

Had George Floyd been white, he probably would be alive. For every black person, this is not a questionable statement, but a reality for all too many of us.

To live as a black person in the United States of America often means the appearance of straddling two worlds: one world, mostly white, that appears on television, in the movies, and in media; the other, the mostly black world defined by family, and the perception of being black as "other."

At some point, growing up black means fitting into preconceived notions. The physical knee on George Floyd's neck is the visual representation of everyday inequalities that face those growing up black. Growing up black means taking the path learning when to speak and when to remain silent. At some point, living while black means accepting subtle discrimination evinced through being turned down for the reality of not being white.

Some deal with it by checking the boxes just as a white person would: speak English according to white standards of grammar, appear genial and rarely show anger, get a good education, dress well according to white fashions. But no matter what is done, there is still a chance that the veneer does not work.

Regardless of having a good education at the finest Ivy league schools, there is still the reality of being arrested outside one's own home, like noted scholar Henry Louis Gates. This is still a reality for living while being black.

"Driving while black" is a phrase used to describe what happens when one is pulled over for no apparent reason – for while driving a luxury car based on the unspoken implication that a regular black person should not be able afford such a car, for instance, and that therefore it must be stolen. Living while black could be getting turned down for a mortgage in a neighborhood considered to be too white and affluent, with few black residents. It could be applying for the same job as someone else, but not being perceived as "good enough" due to implicit bias common in hiring practices. In short, there are few areas of life where race does not play a part in how a black person is treated or perceived by others.

George Floyd's murder opens a cry for justice. Jane Hawkner's "A Statement about Justice for George Floyd" is a plea for change in the year of the Emperor and the era of a foundational call for awareness. The tragic killing of George Floyd occurred in a four year (2020), in a nine (9) month, and on a seven (7) day.  The month of May during a four year becomes a nine month, a time of endings, transitions, and saying goodbye to what is no longer needed. While these may be happy or sad endings, the goal is to deal with the past to start new beginnings in the following one (1) month of June. George Floyd died on the twenty-fifth day, which during the month of May is a seven (7) day. Seven days can be days of spiritual understanding, analytical awareness, secrets, suspicion, and a curious desire for more information. In short, what happens on a seven day is rarely what it appears to be on the surface. There is always more.

The essence or combination for the day of George Floyd's death (4+9+7=20/2).  In tarot, Judgement fits this position. As a society, seeing the murder in broad daylight of a man described as a gentle giant formed a crucible, a moment that has to more protests and monumental change than anyone could have imagined.

The peaceful protests and demands for a re-shaping of the existing legal structure and law enforcement are the start of a new era.  This is a response to the effects of too much control wielded by too few. The cataclysmic forces that erupted on May 25, 2020, are far from burning out. As the worldwide marches and protests in solidarity with those in the United States demonstrate, humanity cries out for justice when it is so clearly lacking in the so-called land of the free and home of the brave.

佐々木美玲らがグルメバーガーにかぶりつく！異色の飯テロドラマ誕生

本作は、今ひそかにブームになっているグルメバーガーの魅力にハマった12人の女子たちが主役。12人の中から、毎回2人の悩める女子が登場し、これまで食べたことのないグルメバーガーを頬張ることで少しだけ前向きになる、オムニバス形式のグルメコメディドラマ。

出演者には、実際に美味しそうに食べる女優を選出。佐々木、横田のほか、瑛茉ジャスミン、大原優乃、北村優衣、福田愛依、松田るか、松本妃代、宮崎優、宮下かな子、矢島舞美、山口まゆが大きく口を開けてグルメバーガーにかぶりつく。

全て実在する店舗が登場

週替わりでドラマ内に登場するグルメバーガー店は全て実在する店舗を使用。肉重視の"肉厚バーガー"、個性的な"変わり種バーガー"など、そこでしか食べられない唯一無二のグルメバーガーが続々登場。

第1話では、喫茶店店員の映美（佐々木）が、彼氏にフラれたばかりのこず恵（大原）を連れて、グルメバーガー店へと繰り出す。

佐々木は「普段の自分の性格とは全然違う役柄で、最初は慣れなかったのですが、共演者の皆さんはもちろん、監督やスタッフの方々と作り上げていく中で徐々に掴んでいけたような気がします」と出演を振り返っている。

また、企画プロデュースの同局・滝山直史氏は「監督、脚本、制作スタッフの皆さんには、とにかくグルメバーガーのしずる感と、美味そうに食べるところを撮ってほしいと連呼していました。意を酌んで頂き、グルメバーガーの料理シーンは思わずよだれが出るぐらいのしずる感満載の出来上がりとなりました」と出来栄えに自信をのぞかせている。（modelpress編集部）

金曜ロードSHOW!では番組公式ホームページで「見たい映画リクエスト」を募集してきた。『天使にラブ・ソングを…』に続く第2弾となる今回は、家族揃って世代を超えて楽しめる『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』シリーズ3作品を6月12日(金)から3週連続で放送することに決定した。リクエスト企画は「見たい！見せたい！名作映画　金曜"リクエスト"ロードSHOW!」と銘打ち、今後も恒例企画として実施される予定だ。

『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』ここがスゴイ
●日本でも3作とも大ヒットを記録！
世界的に大ヒットした本シリーズは、日本でも85年末に公開された第1作が『ロッキー4 炎の友情』『グーニーズ』等並みいる人気映画を抑え、洋画の配給収入年間1位を記録。(統計上、86年で集計)

　NHKで放送中の大河ドラマ『麒麟がくる』（毎週日曜　後8：00　総合ほか）は、放送一時休止前、最後となる第21回「決戦！桶狭間」が7日に放送された。　「桶狭間の戦い」のクライマックス、今川義元（片岡愛之助）が毛利新介（今井翼）に討たれたシーンは、ワイヤーアクションやらVFXやら、あらゆるテクニックを総動員し、計算しつくされた映像を作り上げたが、桶狭間からの帰り道、明智光秀（長谷川博己）と織田信長（染谷将太）の夕日映えするシーンはロケ撮影。天が『麒麟がくる』に味方したとしか思えないことが起きていたという。

　信長と義元が対決する大一番の戦に、かかわりのない光秀だが、「信長から目を離すな」という斎藤道三（本木雅弘）の言葉が忘れられず、越前から馬を走らせ尾張・清須城に駆けつける。

　戦に勝利し、帰還する信長軍を道沿いで待ち構えていた光秀。気づいた信長は光秀に「水を所望したい」と馬を降り、「勝ったぞ」と報告。「お見事でございました」という光秀に「褒めてくれるのか！」と喜ぶ信長。「また会おう」と去っていく信長に光秀は「今川を倒し、次は何をなされます」と尋ねる。信長の答えは「美濃を倒す。美濃は帰蝶の里じゃ。美濃を取って帰蝶を喜ばせてやる」と。

　演出を担当した一色隆司氏は「このシーンをロケでやろうとなった時に、ロケ場所を探してもらった制作部には、夕景になり、できれば太陽を背負いたい…といっておりました。あと、できれば上り坂だとうれしい…と。ほかにもいろんなシーンを撮影しなければならないので、本当に実現できるかはともかくとして、そういうお願いをしてロケ場所を探してもらいました」と明かす。

　イメージどおりの夕日を背負える上り坂が見つかり、ロケを敢行。「スケジュールも日の入りに向けてこのシーンを撮影するように組み立てもらいました。信長と光秀の今後のターニングポイントとなる大切なシーンだったので、わがままを言わせてもらいました」と一色氏。

　下見の時は小雨交じりの曇天で、本当に日が沈むのか確認することができなかったそうだが、「桶狭間の戦いの撮影時も前半は雨で、後半は日が差すなど天気に恵まれていたのですが、このシーンも美しく晴れました。現場に行って天を仰いでありがとうといったのを覚えています。とはいうものの、当日は、低気圧の影響で、快晴だったもののものすごい風で背景や周りの木々が絶えず揺れたり、役者さんは目を開けているのも大変というぐらい大変な撮影となりましたが、映像的にはそのおかげで美しく撮れたと思います」と、明かしてくれた。

The lead cast of "Backstreet Rookie" will be the next guests on SBS's "Running Man!"

Through a preview for next week's episode of "Running Man," it was revealed that Ji Chang Wook, Kim Yoo Jung, Han Sun Hwa, and Do Sang Woo will be the guests for a "convenience store" themed race.

These four actors are starring in the upcoming SBS drama "Backstreet Rookie," a rom-com about the unpredictable love story between convenience store owner Choi Dae Hyun (Ji Chang Wook) and part-time employee Jung Saet Byul (Kim Yoo Jung).

In the preview, the cast members and guests compete for a chance to win popular convenience store items and try to steal items while blindfolded members chase them with plastic hammers. At the end, the addition of a secret "broker" element throws everyone in confusion.

This episode of "Running Man" will air on June 14. Check out the preview below!

　NHKで放送中の大河ドラマ『麒麟がくる』（毎週日曜　後8：00　総合ほか）は、放送一時休止前、最後となる第21回「決戦！桶狭間」が7日に放送された。織田信長（染谷将太）が今川義元（片岡愛之助）を討ち果たす大一番。世にいう「桶狭間の戦い」の一連の騒動の中で大忙しだったのが、帰蝶（川口春奈）だ。

　第20回では、明智光秀（長谷川博己）からの入れ知恵もあって、母親と伯父を動かし、松平元康（風間俊介）を織田方に取り込む策を講じ、「軍師」ぶりを発揮していたが…。

　第21回では、今川義元を討つなら今しかないと、死を覚悟する信長を見て泣きそうになり、その直後、信長が側室に産ませた息子の奇妙丸を紹介されて、がく然。信長は黙っていたことを詫び、息子と尾張の行く末を帰蝶に託し、清須城を出発する。その後、越前から駆けつけた光秀と面会した時、帰蝶はしっかりと奇妙丸を抱いていた。

　演出を担当した一色隆司氏は「初めて奇妙丸と対面するシーンでは、川口さんにその戸惑いと怒り、その下から湧き出る悲しみをシームレスに表現することを意識してもらいました。女性の目から見たら許せない部分もあって良いわけで、それもきちんと感じながら、でも、信長に対する思いがその場で冷めることもなく演じて欲しいと話しました。とても複雑な思いを巧みに演じて下さったと思いますし、帰蝶を確実に自分のものにしていらっしゃると思います」と、撮影時を振り返った。

　さらに第21回の終盤。義元を討ち果たし、清須城へ帰る道で信長は、待ち構えていた光秀を見つけ、言葉を交わす。「帰蝶は何をしても褒める。いつも褒める。 あれは…母親じゃ」とうれしそうに話す信長。次は「美濃の国を取る。美濃を取って帰蝶を喜ばせてやる」という。

　信長を演じる染谷は、番組公式ツイッターで「家臣たちと軍議を重ねても、今川軍に勝つ戦法は見つからない。でも、元康を味方につけましょうという帰蝶のアイデアには飛びつく。信長にとって帰蝶は、母のような存在であり、同時に頼れる相棒のような存在なのだと思います」とコメント。

　そんな帰蝶を演じる川口について、一色氏は「最初は、所作などとてもナーバスになっていましたが、周りの役者さんから声を掛けていただいたり、いろんな人とコミュニケーションを取りながら帰蝶を掴んでくださいました。お姫様であるが故に翻ろうされる人生を受け入れつつも、自分の在り方に信念をもって生きていこうとする姿は、川口さんの人見知りだけど負けず嫌いな部分と重なる部分も多いように感じます。リハーサルで出した芝居上の宿題などは、本番の時までにこちらの想像を遙かに超えるレベルでこなして魅力的な帰蝶を作って下さっています。ものすごい努力家であると同時に人の心をいろんなレベルで表現できる豊かな感性をお持ちなんだと思います」と、話している。

NHK大河ドラマ「麒麟がくる」21話「決戦！桶狭間」が7日夜、放送された。前半のハイライトである桶狭間の戦いで、織田家家臣、毛利新介役の今井翼が初登場。ワイヤーアクションの大ジャンプで今川義元を討ち取るシーンが放送され、ネット上は「飛んだーーー！」「大河でこんな派手なアクション見れるとは」「インパクトすごい」など大いに沸いた。

雨がやんだ桶狭間に登場した今井は、「かかれー！」と奇襲の先頭に立ち、眼下の今川陣へ。槍（やり）を武器に合戦を進み、今川義元を発見。「今川義元がいたぞー」とダイナミックな殺陣を見せ、応戦して足を負傷した義元めがけて大ジャンプし、槍で一突きした。「毛利新介、今川義元を討ち取ったりーー！！」の雄たけびを、別の場所で戦う主君、織田信長（染谷将太）が聞く、という大手柄が描かれた。
