Pat Narduzzi will have to replace one of his most reliable members of his offensive lineman.
Senior offensive guard Bryce Hargrove has announced on Saturday that he will not take advantage of returning next season and instead will enter the 2021 NFL Draft. Hargrove has been an anchor for the Panthers at left guard the last two seasons, starting the last 26 games.
The senior from Akron, Ohio made this decision official Saturday afternoon on Twitter:
“First I’d like to thank God for the blessing and opportunities in my life, without him nothing is possible. I would like to thank the University of Pittsburgh, Coach Narduzzi, Coach Borbely for the opportunities they have given me and the things they have taught me about football and also about being a man.
“I would like to thank my family and friends for the constant support and encouragement to follow my dreams and be the best version of myself whether it’s in life or football.
“I would like to thank my teammates for the love and the great memories and for pushing me and grinding with me over these 5 years. We have created a family and become far more than just teammates.
“I feel truly blessed to even have an opportunity like this coming from the city of Akron, Ohio and not many people have a chance to even make it out of there and with that being said, after weeks of talks and praying with my family and people that want the best for me, I’ve decided to forgo my last year of eligibility and officially enter the 2021 Draft.
“Thank you Pittsburgh, Panther for life.”
Looking ahead to next season, early candidates to replace Hargrove are Matt Goncalves and Blake Zubovic.
