EUGENE — Two more Oregon players have entered the transfer portal.
Receiver/defensive back JR Waters and edge defender Isaac Townsend, both redshirt freshmen, have entered the portal, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.
Waters, who redshirted in 2019 due to a preseason foot injury that required surgery, moved to cornerback last season due to lack of depth at the position. The Oxnard, California, native had one tackle in two games in 2020.
Townsend redshirted in 2019 and added 24 pounds last fall from his listed weight as a former three-star prospect. The Arvada, Colorado, native did not appear in any games during his two seasons at UO.
They are the sixth and seventh UO players to enter the portal this month, joining Daewood Davis, Jayvaun Wilson, MJ Cunningham, Cyrus Habibi-Likio and Cale Millen.
Oregon has 12 scholarship receivers and 12 defensive ends/outside linebackers in 2021 and are projected to have 84 countable scholarship players, one below the limit.
