Evan Mobley is leaving USC after one season to enter the NBA draft.

The 7-footer revealed his long-expected decision in a unique way. He posted a 21-second NFT (nonfungible token) on Twitter that he autographed and is auctioning on a blockchain-based marketplace.

“I’m headed to the league,” it said. “This has always been my dream and, through this NFT, I’m making my announcement that I’ll officially be turning pro. This right here is the new “rookie card” — and it’s 1-of-1.”

Mobley averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 2.4 assists for the Trojans, who advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament before losing to then-undefeated Gonzaga.

Mobley was named the Pac-12’s player of the year, defensive player of theyear and freshman of the year, the first in league history to sweep all three awards.

• Poised to graduate from Cornell in May and with one year of college eligibility left, Jim Boeheim’s oldest son Jimmy said on social media that he’s transferring to Syracuse to play for his Hall of Fame head coach father and alongside younger brother Buddy.

Cink, 47, sets record at RBC Heritage

Two-time champion Stewart Cink moved into position for a third RBC Heritage title, shooting a second straight 63 to set the 36-hole scoring mark in the PGA Tour event in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Cink, 47, sits at 16-under-par 126, five shots ahead of Corey Conners. The previous best midway score was 129, set by Jack Nicklaus en route to victory in 1975 and matched by Phil Mickelson, who wound up third in 2002.

Conners shot 64 and was 11-under. Emiliano Grillo (64) was another shot behind.

Fourth-ranked Collin Morikawa, a Cal alum preparing to defend his PGA Championship title next month, was tied for fourth at 9-under with Sungjae Im (65), Billy Horschel (67) and Cameron Smith, who followed his opening-round 62 with a 71.

Top-ranked Dustin Johnson used a back-nine surge to avoid his second straight missed cut after leaving the Masters early. Four birdies on the back nine gave him a 67 and left him 11 shots behind Cink.

• Lydia Ko, a two-time major champion who’s seeking her first win since 2018, shot 7-under 65 at Kapolei Golf Club in Hawaii to take a one-stroke lead over Nelly Korda (63) at 21-under through the third round at the LPGA Tour’s Lotte Championship.

• Fred Couples didn’t miss a fairway, setting up wedges or short irons into most of the holes, in his 9-under 63 round to build a two-shot lead after the opening round of the PGA Tour Champions’ Chubb Classic in Naples, Fla.

Tennis: Andrey Rublev handed 11-time champion Rafael Nadal a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 defeat on clay in the Monte Carlo Masters quarterfinals.
