Festival promoter Insomniac has announced that it will require attendees to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus or provide a negative test result for its upcoming Beyond Wonderland festival in San Bernardino.

The electronic dance music festival will take place at the NOS Event Center Aug. 27 and 28 after being rescheduled from its June dates due to the pandemic.

The new requirements were posted on the Beyond Wonderland Instagram page on Wednesday, Aug. 11.

Attendees, who must be at least 18 years old, will have to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of entering the festivals.

The promoter is not requiring attendees to wear masks, but wrote on the Beyond Wonderland website that “local and state officials strongly recommend that you wear a mask to keep you and those around you safe.”

This will be the third event Insomniac has held at the San Bernardino venue since state coronavirus restrictions eased in June. The complex hosted the Day Trip festival over Fourth of July weekend and also the larger Hard Summer music festival July 31 and Aug. 1.

Insomniac’s first California event with the new coronavirus requirements is Crush SF, which happens in the Bay Area this weekend, but Beyond Wonderland will be the first major festival from the promoter to implement the restrictions.

Across the music industry, more venues, performers and events are requiring proof of full vaccination or negative test results as coronavirus cases surge due to the delta variant.

Splash House, which kicks off the first of two weekends in Palm Springs on Friday, Aug. 13, has added the requirements after policy changes from the city. Dead and Co., who will perform in San Diego and at the Hollywood Bowl in late October, also announced similar rules for fans, but requires a 48-hour window for the negative test results.

Beyond Wonderland’s website noted that a hard copy or a photo of a vaccination card, digital vaccine record or negative test results on a phone will be accepted for entry.

The festival’s lineup includes artists such as Dillon Francis, Alison Wonderland, Diplo, Deorro, Paul Oakenfold and dozens of others. For more information, visit socal.beyondwonderland.com.
