| 1 dead in shooting at hair salon in Mobile - AL.com Posted: 03 Jul 2020 10:44 PM PDT  One person was killed at a shooting Friday night at a hair salon in Mobile, according to police. A statement from Corporal Ryan Blakely said police were called at 7:34 p.m. to Phlawless II Hair Salon located at 2662 Saint Stephens Road. "Upon arrival, officers located a male victim down in the rear parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was deceased on scene," the statement read. The investigation is on going. Guilfoyle was not with the President and Donald Trump Jr. has so far tested negative, the person familiar with the matter said. That source said Guilfoyle had not had recent contact with the President, but she was in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was backstage for his rally there and was also at his event in Phoenix. Guilfoyle's positive test was first reported by The New York Times. A former Fox News personality, Guilfoyle assumed the role earlier this year of national chairwoman of the Trump Victory Finance Committee, where she is credited with expanding its ranks of fundraisers. Guilfoyle is not the first person close to the President to test positive for the virus. A member of the Navy who serves as one of Trump's personal valets tested positive in May. Additionally, eight Trump advance team staffers who were in Tulsa tested positive for coronavirus. All of Trump's campaign staffers who attended his rally in Tulsa were quarantining last week after interacting with several colleagues who later tested positive for coronavirus, CNN reported at the time. | Festivities muted amid viral fears - Albany Times Union Posted: 03 Jul 2020 07:47 PM PDT  The U.S. headed into the Fourth of July weekend with many parades and fireworks displays canceled, beaches and bars closed, and health authorities warning that this will be a crucial test of Americans' self-control that could determine the trajectory of the surging coronavirus outbreak. With confirmed cases climbing in 40 states, governors and local officials have ordered the wearing of masks in public, and families were urged to celebrate their independence at home. Even then, they were told to keep their backyard cookouts small. "This year is a huge bummer, to say the least," said Ashley Peters, who for 14 years has hosted 150 friends and relatives at a pool party at her home in Manteca, Calif., complete with a DJ, bounce house, water slide and shaved-ice stand. This time, the guest list is down to just a few people. Pulling the plug on the bash, she said, was a "no-brainer" because so many of those she knows are front-line workers, including her husband, a fire captain. "I woke up and told my husband I wish it was just July 5," she said. Health experts agree this will be a pivotal moment in determining whether the nation slides into a deeper mess. The fear is that a weekend of crowded pool parties, picnics and parades will fuel the surge. "We're not going to be arresting people for having gatherings, but we're certainly going to discourage it," said Dr. Jeff Duchin, public health director for Seattle and King County. Those who decide they must gather with a small group of family members need to be careful, he said: "Don't share utensils, don't share objects, don't pass them back and forth, because you're passing that virus around as well." The warnings were sounded after a Memorial Day weekend that saw many people emerge from stay-at-home orders to go to the beach, restaurants and family gatherings. Since then, confirmed infections per day in the U.S. have rocketed to an all-time high, more than doubling. Fireworks will be launched from four spots across Albuquerque, N.M., so that people can "ooh" and "aah" from home instead of gathering in a single place. Willie Nelson's annual Fourth of July Picnic will carry on at his Texas ranch outside Austin, but this year the concert portion will be virtual. President Donald Trump traveled to South Dakota on Friday for a fireworks show at Mount Rushmore before returning to the nation's capital for military flyovers Saturday and a mile-long pyrotechnics display on the National Mall that his administration promises will be the biggest in recent memory. "We'll muddle through," he said. Delaware's governor ordered bars in some beach towns to close, saying people were getting complacent about masks and social distancing. The Lake Erie resort village of Put-in-Bay in Ohio canceled its fireworks after a small number of coronavirus cases were linked to bars on the island. And the New Jersey resort town of Wildwood did the same. Still, many people are expected to pack the beaches, boardwalk restaurants and amusement parks up and down the Jersey shore. Keon Wiggins-Saunders, Nailah Gatling and Ryan Artis recently graduated from Lakeland as part of the historic class of 2020. They came on the podcast on July 2 to talk about their experiences as the first guests in Wait a Gam Minute's new studio. "Senior year of high school is the year that memories are made," said Trivelle Gambrell, creator and director of the podcast. "You go into the year with this picture in your head, and for this class, it did not happen." "We want to show that there are positive and respectful youth out there," said Gambrell about why they wanted to do this podcast. "These youth are our future, and they have a good head on their shoulders." Wait a Gam Minute Podcast is a Suffolk-based podcast with a following around the United States with up to 1,6000 views on their videos. The cast consists of three Suffolk natives — Yolanda Davis, Shante Hall and Rasheedah Rodgers. The podcast premieres every Thursday at 7 p.m. "Our show is girl talk," said Gambrell. "We talk about finances, relationships, current events, or what people don't want to talk about." All three of these graduates have plans to go to college, and Artis and Wiggins-Saunders graduated with their associate degrees as well as their high school diplomas this spring. The students were also involved at their school, as Gatling was the 2020 homecoming queen for Lakeland and Artis was class vice president. They talked about the pandemic and how it has affected them. "I feel like everything happens for a reason," said Wiggins-Saunders. "A lot of positive things have come out of this pandemic. Small businesses have popped up, and people have been stuck at home to have the chance to educate themselves on some things. We needed this time for us to stop and to appreciate things." The graduates said they missed not being able to celebrate milestones like prom and graduation in the traditional ways. "I feel like everyone else had a chance to have a graduation, and so I feel like we needed a chance to do it," said Gatling. "It's just crazy that we couldn't walk across the stage. I was pretty down about it." As the podcast goes on Facebook Live, viewers commented their questions, and the graduates didn't hold back on their answers. One of the was about the Black Lives Matter movement. With Artis' father being a police officer, he brought a unique perspective to the discussion. "People need to realize that all police officers are not the same, and some of them have hearts, and some police officers have family," said Artis. "Police officers are still human. They have feelings; they have emotions; they're still people. The only thing that makes them different from us is that they have a gun and a police vest." Gatling brought a different perspective to the table. She said current events make her nervous as she feels pressure from the ongoing racial tension. Capcom have announced the release date for the fourth major update (version 14.00.00) to Monster Hunter World, and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. The update will include Quests to hunt down Alatreon (the final boss of Monster Hunter Tri, which can change its element), the Frostfang Bairoth variant from August 7th to 19th (which can shoot an icy breath), and their hunter armors and weapons players can craft. Alatreon gear utilizes its scales, granting a set bonus of elemental resistance. As your elemental resistance rises, your weapons will deal more damage of that element. The Frostfang Bairoth gear offers a set-bonus even with one piece; Punishing Draw. This skill grants draw attacks the chance to stun foes. With three pieces the Slugger Secret skill will activate, allowing some weapons to stun enemies in situations they usually could not. Voiced dialogue is limited due to the hindrances caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This also caused the update to be delayed. You can find the full rundown on the update and additions below. Along with delving into more details about the new monsters, gear, and systems, upcoming add-on content was detailed. These include new Pendants (such as butterflies and Fulgur bugs), new room decor (based around Lynians and the Felyne Hideout), new monster figures and music. The next Astera/Seliana seasonal event was also discussed; the Sizzling Spice Fest. Focusing on a summer and carnival theme, the gathering hub and food will receive a new look. Along with new outfits for the handler, Palicoes, Poogies, and even snowmen. Special armor made during the event include a realistic Faux Kelbi and Aptonoth helmets, mug-shaped dual blades full of beer, layered armor that becomes your default clothing when worn, and rabbit ears. Finally, information about the next update was shared, along with a roadmap on the official website. A fifth free title update (version 15.00) will be launched this Fall; adding a a returning monster, Mater Rank layered Armor, and a new Astera and Seliana festival. Update version 14.00.00 will launch July 9th, and require 1.4 GB on PC. An optional High Resolution Texture Pack will require an additional 1 GB.
