Coming into Tuesday’s virtual 2020 NHL draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets held down the 21st pick in the draft. They also made headlines earlier in the day when they traded RFA Josh Anderson for center Max Domi and a third-round pick. And there’s plenty of speculation about any slew of potential trades that could still go down any time.
But getting back to the main event, the Blue Jackets held onto that draft pick to select goal scorer Yegor Chinakhov out of the KHL!
In case you’re wondering, Chinakhov, a 19-year-old and right-wing, is 5’11, 179 pounds, and features a left-handed shot. Below are his numbers via Elite Prospects.
I’m also pretty sure Jarmo saw the ability to score a power play goal.
Welcome to Columbus, Yegor!
