According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber will enter the “health and safety” protocols established by the NBA for dealing with COVID-19.

But according to Brad Townsend, the length of time in isolation for Kleber has not yet been established.
League source confirms @ShamsCharania report of Maxi Kleber entering "health and safety" protocol, but says length of time Kleber will have to isolate is unclear. Kleber joins teammates Richardson, Finney-Smith and Brunson on Covid-related list. Mavs have lost top 3 defenders.

Kleber joins the list of Dallas players on the COVID-related list, including Jalen Brunson, Josh Richardson, and Dorian Finney-Smith. That’s four of the top eight rotation players for the Mavericks. Kleber has been extremely important during the three game winning streak for the Mavericks, hitting open shots and playing great defense.
The Mavericks have also now shut down their practice facility, per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon as they are essentially dealing with an outbreak.
The Mavs’ practice facility has been shut down after the team’s second positive test in three days, sources said. Maxi Kleber started self-isolation this morning. Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith and Josh Richardson still quarantining in Denver. Contact tracing being done now.

This circumstance is specifically why I noted in late November that depth would be extremely important to team success this season. With four players out due to COVID-19 and Kristaps Porzingis perhaps not yet ready to take the court, it will be up to Luka Doncic and the back half of the roster to try escape with wins against the Pelicans, Hornets, Bucks, Bulls, Raptors, Pacers and beyond.
We’re about to find out if the depth acquired during the off-season is ready to help the Mavericks win games.
