INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (March 7, 2021) – Lubbock Christian University was selected as the No. 2 seed for the 2021 NCAA South Central Regional, which will be hosted at the Rip Griffin Center March 13-16.

The Chaps will enter the tournament with a 17-2 overall record, having gone 15-1 in Lone Star Conference play to capture the league title. This is the third time they have reached the NCAA Tournament since becoming eligible in 2013 and their No. 2 seed selection is the highest in program history. All-time, Lubbock Christian is 2-2 in South Central Regional competition.

This year's South Central Regional is slightly different than in years past, with only six teams selected instead of eight. The Chaps' region is also different this year, with teams from the LSC and the Great American Conference heading to Lubbock. As the No. 2 seed, LCU will receive a first-round bye, taking on the winner of the game between the No. 3 seed Arkansas Monticello (16-4) and the No. 6 seed Oklahoma Baptist (15-5).

First round games will take place on March 13 with the second round to follow on March 14. The championship game will be held on March 16. A full schedule with game times is listed below.

On the other side of the bracket is the No. 1 seed West Texas A&M (15-2), the No. 4 seed Southern Arkansas (15-5) and the No. 5 seed Dallas Baptist (16-4). Lubbock Christian has only played against one of the teams coming to Lubbock for the regional so far this season, splitting two games with West Texas A&M to close out the regular season.

Due to the mandatory COVID protocols put forth by the NCAA, each participating team (including LCU) will receive a limited block of tickets. LCU's allotment will first be made available to the families of our men's basketball student-athletes and coaches for purchase. There may be limited tickets available for sale later in the week, so please follow www.lcuchaps.com and all LCU Athletics social media accounts later in the week for more information.

The Chaps have already had a historic season, capturing their first conference title since 2004 and spending nearly the entire season ranked in the national top-25. They were led to the postseason by LSC Player of the Year Parker Hicks and First Team All-LSC selection Lloyd Daniels. Two other LCU players – Rowan Mackenzie and Cameron Copley – were named to the All-LSC Third team, while Aamer Muhammad earned the league's Sixth Man of the Year award and Ty Caswell was named to the All-Academic team.
