Madisonville High School Athletic Director Rusty Nail sent an email Monday thanking the public for helping make last week's homecoming matchup against Teague run smoothly within the required COVID-19 guidelines and listed a few areas of possible improvements.
"A few areas we will improve upon have to do with entering and leaving the stadium," said Nail in the email. "In the past, many stadiums would have a must pay to re-enter policy. Online ticketing and no ticket sales at the gates prevent this possibility, so we are posting signs and ask that once you enter the stadium you do not leave unless you plan on not returning."
Nail stated personnel cannot allow frequent frequent trips in and out of the stadium to vehicles and stores around town and have any hopes of keeping a correct capacity count and secure the venue.
"The ticket workers have their hands full on the initial check-in without having to determine who all they can remember as checking in amongst the thousand-plus fans that cross their path in a short time," said Nail.
Ticketing is not traceable with the digital tickets. They will come up as already checked-in from a fan's original entry.
"Thanks in advance for your help with this and please remember, if you leave the stadium for any reason during the game, you just left the stadium for the night," Nail concluded. "Plan ahead for weather changes or expected weather and maybe pack some chewing gum to hold you over until the game is over."
Madisonville's next home varsity football game will take place Sept. 25 against Livingston at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for Friday's varsity football game at Lorena can be purchased by the general public Thursday at the Mustang Stadium home ticket booth during the junior varsity contests. The entry table will sell both tickets for Thursday's junior varsity game as well as the ticket you will need to enter at Leopard Stadium in Lorena. You will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for $5.00 per person for the varsity game and must have the ticket in hand when traveling to Lorena as none will be sold at the gate. The remaining availbile capacity is 650 and the band will not travel to Lorena.
The junior high team will play in Lorena Thursday and tickets can be purchased at the gate. Tickets for both JV and JH contests will be sold for $3.
