St Maarten updates entry requirements for U.S. tourists - Travel Weekly

St. Maarten has relaxed its entry requirements to make it slightly easier for U.S. travelers to enter the island, and the border opened on the St. Martin line.

Results of a negative Covid-19 PCR test can now be submitted within five days of arrival in St. Maarten versus the previous three-day requirement. The entry protocol in St. Maarten is significant, since the island's primary entry point, Princess Juliana airport, is located on the Dutch St. Maarten side. The complete list of entry requirements can be found here.

But in a bit of good news for visitors seeking access to the French side of the island, the border between St. Maarten and St. Martin reopened Sept. 18 to all travelers. It had been closed to U.S. travelers since Aug. 1 due to the high number of Covid cases in the U.S.

Nonetheless, the U.S. is still considered a high-risk country based on the number of Covid cases.

Mask-wearing in public spaces is mandatory for visitors and locals on both sides of the island.
