MILWAUKEE, WI – A Milwaukee-area man has been charged in connection with the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
David Charles Mish, Jr., 41 of West Allis, has been charged with unlawful entry and violent entry and disorderly conduct and appeared before a federal judge in Milwaukee on Friday, according to FOX6.
According to the court filing, Mish told the D.C. Metropolitan Police on Jan. 7, the day after the insurrection, he had information about the death of Ashli Babbit, an Air Force veteran from San Diego who was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer as she attempted to get into the House Speaker's Lobby.
Mish told police he recorded video of the chaos and subsequently emailed a link to a Google Drive folder, but neither the police nor the FBI have been able to access the content of the link, according to the complaint.
Mish was identified by officials in video footage taken by others who were also inside the Capitol Building.
An Eau Claire man is also facing charges after authorities say he entered the U.S. Capitol during the riots.
Kevin Daniel Loftus, 52, of Eau Claire, was arrested for "Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority" and "Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds," according to the criminal complaint.
Dozens of people have been charged with federal crimes amid an ongoing investigation into last week's riot at the U.S. Capitol. Others have been charged in state and local courts, according to the Department of Justice.
