The Tecate Port of Entry was closed Tuesday morning for around three hours after a group of people tried to enter the country illegally, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. By 9:15 a.m. the border crossing resumed operations, spokeswoman Angelica DeCima said.
CBP confirmed that eight people were arrested, and that they tried to cross through the vehicle lanes.
Only northbound traffic was affected. More details were not immediately available.
