LYNDHURST, Ohio -- Fleeing and eluding: Case Avenue

At 2:20 a.m. Oct. 3, it was reported that two cars were entered by unknown suspects as the autos were parked in Case Avenue driveways. Nothing was reported stolen from the cars.

A witness reported there were three suspects traveling about in a car. Police located the car and a chase developed. The suspect vehicle traveled more than 80 miles per hour on Richmond Road in trying to elude police.

The chase extended into Euclid and then into Cleveland where officers terminated the pursuit on East 152nd Street. Police were unable to obtain a license plate number.

Assault: Mayfield Road

At 1:45 a.m. Oct. 11, a 911 caller reported a fight taking place at Scalpers Bar & Grille, 5718 Mayfield Road. The caller stated that at least 10 people were involved. No weapons were seen.

At the bar, all parties were uncooperative with officers. Mayfield Heights police were also on the scene to help Lyndhurst police. A Cleveland woman, 30, suffered a head injury and was taken to Hillcrest Hospital.

No arrests were made as the matter remains under investigation.

Domestic violence: Alberta Drive

At 11:40 p.m. Oct. 10, officers were dispatched to a home where a woman, 25, had called to her house two ex-boyfriends. The men, 33, of Lyndhurst, and 30, of Beachwood, became upset with the other’s presence.

At the scene, the woman told police that the older man allegedly put his hands around her neck. The woman’s child was in the house at the time. After investigating, officers decided against charging anyone.

Auto theft: Henning Drive

At 10:40 a.m. Oct. 10, a man, 49, reported that his car was missing from his driveway. The man didn’t believe his key was inside the car when it was stolen. The car has not been recovered.

Auto theft: Chickadee Lane

At 8:45 a.m. Oct. 8, a man, 42, reported that his 2017 automobile was missing from his home’s garage. The man believed that his key was in the car at the time of the theft. The car has not been recovered.

Possession of drug paraphernalia: Brainard Road

At 12:50 p.m. Oct. 7, several callers reported that a man jumped out of a moving car and onto the roadway on Brainard Road. It was subsequently found that the man, 29, of Cleveland, broke his leg. EMS took him to Hillcrest Hospital.

It was further learned that the man was wanted on an Adult Parole Authority warrant, and that he was in possession of a crack pipe. Police charged the man with possession of drug paraphernalia. The parole authority was to pick him up at the hospital.

Aggravated menacing: Winchester Road

At 5:25 p.m. Oct. 6, a man reported that a male in another car, a Dodge Challenger, pointed a gun at him during a dispute as the two drove.

Failure to secure a firearm: Cedar Road

At 9:05 a.m. Oct. 6, a caller reported that an employee of Giant Eagle, 25105 Cedar Road, found a gun in a case left upon a bench near the store. The gun was taken to the store manager’s office. It was later found that the gun belonged to a Cleveland man, 35.

Police charged the man with failure to secure a firearm.
