Lennar, Century Communities and David Weekley Homes announced new home building with a focus on affordability in three Houston area communities.
Miami-based Lennar opened Arbor Trace, the builder's fourth Houston area nuHome community of entry-level homes starting in the $150,000s. The neighborhood, located off Texas 249 at Wright Road and Woodtrace Boulevard northwest of Houston, is planned for 94 homes with a neighborhood walking trail and wooded reserves.
The one- and two-story nuHome plans contain three or four bedrooms and range from 1,174 to 2,229 square feet. A model is open at 33540 Orange Maple Way in Pinehurst.
Colorado-based Century Communities began selling new homes in Huffman, northeast of Houston, that target entry-level buyers in Woodland Lakes.

The homes start in the upper $100,000s with plans from three to five bedrooms containing up to 2,905 square feet. The community is east of Lake Houston at 24706 Winema Woods Lane.
North of Houston in Willis, Houston-based David Weekley Homes is building in two sections of The Woodlands Hills, a master-planned community of Howard Hughes Corp. A model home at 205 Scenic Grove Court in Willis is open for tours.
Weekley is building homes starting at $225,000 on 45-foot wide lots for its Imagination by David Weekley Homes division targeting value-minded first-time or move-down buyers. The homes range from nearly 1,600 to 3,100 square feet and have two to four bedrooms.
The builder is also offering homes on 55-foot lots priced from the $295,000s . Those homes contain from 1,900 to 3,200 square feet and have between three and five bedrooms.
The median sales price for new homes in the Houston region is $282,700, according to Metrostudy, a housing information firm.
