The 18-year-old, selected by the Ducks in the first round (No. 6) of the 2020 NHL Draft on Oct. 6, was the second defensemen chosen after Jake Sanderson (No. 5) by the Ottawa Senators.

Drysdale scored 47 points (nine goals, 38 assists) in 49 games with Erie of the Ontario Hockey League last season to lead the team in goals, assists, points, power-play assists (19) and power-play goals (three) among defensemen and was named an OHL First Team All-Star.

"It's unbelievable being where I am right now," Drysdale said after being drafted. "It's definitely a really fun time. There's nothing but excitement in the room and for myself when I got picked. Really exciting time. In regard to waiting, it's a very nerve-wracking time to say the least. But when you hear your name called, it's definitely something special."

Forward Jacob Perreault, the No. 27 pick in the 2020 draft, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Ducks on Thursday.
