COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the 8800 block of North County Road 600E on Sunday at 10 a.m. The homeowner told dispatchers that he arrived home and found a red truck in his driveway. Allegedly, a white male was seen exiting the residence who reportedly told the homeowner that he was Jesus and the house belonged to him.

When deputies arrived, two men were standing outside the residence. Officers say one identified himself as the homeowner, while the other stated he was Jesus and tried to get into the truck. When law enforcement tried to detain him, deputies say the suspect pulled away and got into the driver’s seat, which led to an altercation.

The man reportedly attempted to take a handgun from one of the deputies, however, a taser was utilized to strike the suspect and incapacitate him. He was then taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as Tony Fultz, 40, of Columbus. He is facing preliminary charges of residential entry, resisting law enforcement, and disarming a law enforcement officer.
