Marshawn Lynch, Justin Forsett enter University of California Athletics Hall of Fame - Field Gulls

They were teammates in college and teammates on the Seattle Seahawks, and now Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett belong in the University of California Athletics Hall of Fame.

Beast Mode played three years at Cal and averaged 6.6 yards per carry while totaling 29 rushing touchdowns and 6 receiving scores. He still holds the school record for most 100-yard rushing games at 17, and obviously he was so sought after that he skipped the senior year and was drafted 12th overall by the Buffalo Bills. You know the rest of the story from there.

Forsett went the full four years with the Golden Bears from 2004-2007, finishing up his career as a Pac-10 First-Team selection after rushing for over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Seahawks took him in the 7th round of the 2008 NFL Draft, and some fans may recall that he got cut in the middle of the season so that they could sign Jon Ryan and Billy McMullen. Luckily he was brought back later in the year and remained with Seattle until the 2011 season, giving him just under two full seasons as Lynch’s professional teammate.

Lynch is also eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame and we hope someday we’ll see his bust in Canton at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Congrats to both men!
