Episode 16(last episode) managed to set a record rating enabling the drama to become the highest rated Tv drama in the history of the Korean Cable Network. According to Nielsen Korea the last episode recorded a rating of 28.27 %. It easily beat its own previous record of 24.44% for Ep 15. Drew Angerer/Getty Images hide caption President Trump on Friday unveiled more details of "Operation Warp Speed" – an effort to accelerate the development of a vaccine and medical treatments for the coronavirus by January. "We're looking to get it by the end of the year if we can, maybe before," Trump said as top medical, military and Cabinet officials, many of them wearing face masks, joined him in the Rose Garden. Trump compared the effort to the Manhattan Project – the World War II effort to build the first nuclear weapon. "That means big and it means fast," Trump said. "We have the military totally involved." Experts have noted that a timeline of even 12 to 18 months is optimistic. The first Food and Drug Administration-approved vaccine for the Ebola virus was not until December 2019 despite a peak in outbreaks between 2014 and 2016. At present there are 14 promising vaccine candidates, Trump said, noting that it would be "risky" and "expensive," but that the federal government plans to invest in manufacturing the top candidates even before they are approved to eliminate any delay once approval happens. Trump confirmed the names of leaders of the project. As NPR reported Thursday, former GlaxoSmithKline executive Moncef Slaoui will be the chief adviser to the effort. Slaoui's long career at the company included the chairmanship of GlaxoSmithKline's global vaccines division. He also was on the board of Moderna, a company with a coronavirus vaccine candidate. Moderna announced Friday that Slaoui has resigned from the board. Gen. Gustave Perna, commander of the U.S. Army Materiel Command, will be the chief operating officer of the program. Trump said the United States would work with other countries — even China — on the project to develop, manufacture and distribute a vaccine quickly. "They're viewing us as the leader, and the relationship with other countries on solving this problem has been incredible," he said. "We'll be very happy if they are able to do it," Trump said, speaking generally about other countries working on vaccines for the virus. "We have no ego when it comes to this." The government will also ramp up production of vaccine supplies such as storage facilities, vials and syringes. Trump said the military would deploy "every truck, plane and soldier" to distribute the vaccine quickly once available. Trump's remarks in the Rose Garden were accompanied by loud honking from nearby protesting truckers. "That's the sign of love, not the sign of your typical protest," the president said. The truckers have been protesting for nearly two weeks against what they say are low pay rates, neither against nor in support of Trump. "The firings of multiple Inspectors General is unprecedented; doing so without good cause chills the independence essential to their purpose. It is a threat to accountable democracy and a fissure in the constitutional balance of power," the Utah Republican tweeted. The league on Friday revealed rounds three and four of the restructured schedule, which will resume with a Brisbane-Parramatta blockbuster on May 28. Where games will be staged remains unknown, as is the rest of the draw, which is expected to be revealed following an ARL Commission meeting on Wednesday. | Amy Iverson: Why the ‘Plandemic’ viral video is dangerous - Deseret News Posted: 16 May 2020 06:39 PM PDT  Please stop spreading this video making controversial and unproven claims concerning COVID-19. I couldn't scroll more than a minute or two on social media this week without coming across a video post of "Plandemic." With a handsome man's face as the thumbnail, most posts included sentiments like, "wake up people," or "stop being fooled." This 26-minute interview is basically a trailer for an upcoming documentary claiming to "expose the scientific and political elite who run the scam that is our global health system." The handsome man is former model turned filmmaker Mikki Willis who interviews Judy Mikovits. The video makes many conspiratorial (and unfounded) claims, including one about how wearing masks can make you sick. Tens of millions of people have viewed the video through every social media outlet, even though YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook continue to take it down. The "Plandemic" website encourages believers to download the video and post it directly to their social feeds, hopeful it will escape the eyes of those tasked with maintaining social network community guidelines. In 2009, Mikovits published a paper in the journal "Science" on possible causes of chronic fatigue syndrome. Problem was, no other researchers could replicate her findings in the coming years. The Chicago Tribune detailed what happened afterwards; Mikovits' study was discredited, "Science" retracted the paper and she lost her job. She currently has two books on Amazon, as of today, they are both labeled "Best Seller." One of Mikovits' most controversial claims in the video is that "wearing the mask literally activates your own virus. You're getting sick from your own reactivated coronavirus expressions." Politifact checked this with Richard Peltier, an assistant professor of environmental health sciences at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. "There is nothing about wearing a mask that would have any biologically relevant impact on viral activity," Peltier wrote. "Wearing a mask simply catches the droplets before they reach our mouth or nose. It isn't rocket science and Dr. Mikovits should know that." Facebook told The Washington Post that "suggesting that wearing a mask can make you sick could lead to imminent harm, so we're removing the video." To highlight another claim that a coronavirus vaccine is all about the money, Willis asks Mikovits a leading question. "If we activate mandatory vaccines globally," he queries, "I imagine these people stand to make hundreds of billions of dollars that own the vaccines." She answers, "And they'll kill millions as they already have with their vaccines." Where is the proof and who are "they"? We don't get any evidence, and she mentions "they" are everyone involved with the World Health Organization, the Federal Drug Administration, The Centers for Disease Control and specifically Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Although Mikovits says she is "absolutely not" anti-vaccine, she claims anything that can't be patented is shut down because no one makes money off it. She adds her belief that natural remedies could cure COVID-19. The video cuts in clips from health care professionals like a chiropractor who has said people can drink tonic water to prevent or treat COVID-19. Fact checking website Snopes found this chiropractor's video to be a "case study in the abuse of anecdotal information." Other clips appear from the Bakersfield, California, doctors who held a press conference to express their belief that the coronavirus outbreak wasn't that bad. They have been widely discredited with the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine both "emphatically" condemning the Bakersfield doctors' opinions. In the video, Mikovits says, "It's beyond comprehension how society can be so fooled." As she says this, clips from television flash across the screen, featuring talk shows from the far left to the far right. Stephen Colbert, Anderson Cooper, Jimmy Kimmel, Bill Maher, Alex Jones and Sean Hannity are all shown in rapid succession. Is she saying all of society is fooled, whether liberal or conservative? She must believe heads of religious organizations, hospitals and major research universities all have their heads buried in the sand. I'm not saying our government is perfect, nor does it always tell us the truth. But I do trust legions of medical professionals and even many in government organizations who have spent years of their lives studying these diseases and how best to control their devastation on the world. I believe these doctors and scientists are looking for ways to keep us safe because most have spent lifetimes doing all they can to help others and keep them healthy. I understand many of us are confused and feel helpless and hopeless at times these days. We want someone to blame. But we cannot turn to outrageous, unchecked claims from a few loud voices to ease our concerns. And we definitely should not spread their unsubstantiated claims. Pearce promised the governing body will press on with the move, which has drawn fierce criticism from numerous players and coaches. The development means full-time referees will be deployed as touch judges, a role traditionally filled by officials on part-time contracts. "There was a level of inconsistency in the interpretations from the full-time to the part-timers," Pearce told Triple M radio on Saturday. "What's going to happen now for the rest of the season, given that we've gone back to one referee, is that we're going to have all full-time officials. "The referees that were doing centre-field refereeing that haven't got a game are going to be doing the sidelines on matches. "So effectively, what we've got is all our full-time squad running either the centre-field refereeing position or the sideline." While the part-time officials face an uncertain future, Pearce went on to assure the union that a minimum of 22 referees will stay on next season. "Not necessarily the personnel because if they don't step up, they won't be there again next year," he said. "But the same number of officials will be there again next year as a minimum "That's something we're speaking to the union about. They're not going to be cutting numbers in that space." GMac Cash and New Era Detroit teamed up and surprised families with much needed food and supplies, " It was great man, we donated some food to over 100 families, we donated masks, and utensils to over 100 families, it was a good day. | T-Mobile weighs which stores stay closed post-merger - FierceWireless Posted: 16 May 2020 05:27 PM PDT  U.S. operators across the board reported net losses in prepaid subscribers in the first quarter of 2020, but checks by Wave7 Research show prepaid sales were up modestly in April – likely with the help of stimulus checks. Wave7 Research estimates that as of May 8, 19,270 of 20,160 prepaid stores were open, reaching 96%, which is up from an April 8 estimate that 73% of stores were open and an April 22 estimate that 87% were open. The firm estimates that 98% of Cricket stores, 95% of Metro stores, and 95% of Boost stores are open. Most of the stores have reduced hours and some are closed on Sundays. According to Wave7's sources, most multi-carrier dealer stores remain open and many of those sell things other than wireless, including in some cases food and electronics. Some also do phone repairs. "Handset supply is fine, aside from the iPhone SE," said Wave7 in its May 14 prepaid report. "That said, the situation is not normal, as store hours are shorter, there are limits to store visitors, and there are social distancing policies in stores. Also, Best Buy remains curbside-only for now, with 200 stores opening in May for appointment-only visits." Before the pandemic, Wave7 was reporting that things were actually looking better for prepaid this year compared with last year. Then COVID-19 and stay-at-home orders hit. First-quarter results included the last two weeks of March, when the pandemic shut down a lot of businesses. Those two weeks, or one-sixth of the quarter, really tanked the results for prepaid, noted Jeff Moore, principal at Wave7. Looking forward, Wave7 has started its latest survey of postpaid stores and while the results aren't ready yet, Moore said he expects to see most Sprint stores back open and "we'll see about the others." However, without another round of stimulus checks, he's not expecting May to be a repeat of April in terms of prepaid sales. Which Sprint stores get rebranded? The big question is which Sprint stores survive to become rebranded to T-Mobile stores. T-Mobile's merger with Sprint closed on April 1, and on the network side of the house, it's already made strides in putting Sprint's 2.5 GHz spectrum to work. On the retail end of things, the long lead-up to the transaction's closure also provided them time to get some processes in order, but it's not clear how much could be done until T-Mobile got their hands on Sprint's books.
Moore took a picture of a local T-Mobile store that closed in March due to the pandemic and this past week, it appeared to be closed for good, with signage removed. To his surprise, the local Sprint store in Lawrence, Kansas, was open as of this past week. "A little bit of a head scratcher," he said, because it costs more to rebrand a store. However, this particular Sprint store sits at a high-traffic intersection in the city and the T-Mobile store was in a less visible location. That's a sample size of one, "but it's enough to let me know that we need to be watching out for these things." There was no indication before the pandemic that this particular T-Mobile store would close permanently. Of course, a lot of T-Mobile and Sprint stores are located in close proximity to one another. Moore said it's his understanding that all things being equal between the T-Mobile and Sprint stores in a given neighborhood, the tie breaker will go to the T-Mobile store because that doesn't require new signage and all the expenses that go into rebranding. Unified brand coming T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert has said the plan always has been to start advertising as one postpaid T-Mobile brand this summer, but the COVID-19 crisis pushed that from an early summer project to a mid-summer event. He didn't give a specific date, but some reports suggest August 2. The company was able to convert a lot of its employees who typically work in stores to a virtual retail environment before stores started re-opening again. He also said they're making progress in terms of getting people up to speed on installing systems so that they can help customers whether they're a legacy Sprint-branded or a T-Mobile customer, regardless if they're in a Sprint or T-Mobile store. Shafiqur Rahman/AP hide caption It's the moment international aid groups have been dreading for months — the coronavirus has reached the sprawling refugee camps in the Cox's Bazar district of southern Bangladesh, home to roughly a million Rohingya refugees. Bangladesh officials said on Thursday that at least two people living in or adjacent to the camps have tested positive for the coronavirus and have now been quarantined amid fears of a humanitarian disaster if the virus spreads unchecked. "I'm deeply concerned, but, sadly, not surprised at all," Deepmala Mahla, CARE's regional director for Asia, told NPR. "I am scared, I am worried, but I also feel that this is a stark reminder how vulnerable the Rohingya refugees are," she said. Save the Children's health director in Bangladesh, Dr. Shamim Jahan, is worried, too. In a statement, he warned of the "catastrophic" effect of the virus on the Rohingya, and on Bangladesh in general. "Now that the virus has entered the world's largest refugee settlement in Cox's Bazar we are looking at the very real prospect that thousands of people may die from COVID-19," he said. "Despite the best efforts of aid agencies and the government of Bangladesh, healthcare capacity in the refugee camps is limited," he said. "In the Rohingya refugee camps — home to nearly a million people — there are no intensive care beds at this moment." That lack of capacity scares Ram Das, responsible for CARE's Rohingya response program in the camps. He's worried about how many people have been in contact with those now quarantined, given how tightly the Rohingya are packed together in the camps. "I would say, if I were to draw a parallel, the density is eight times that of Wuhan city, so this is scary for us because of the close proximity of the people living there," Das told NPR, adding that proximity makes social distancing almost impossible. And even if they tried, argues the International Rescue Committee's Bangladesh country director Manish Agrawal, it still wouldn't be enough. "The population shares water and hygiene facilities such as toilets, bathing facilities and water points resulting in long queues and unavoidable unsanitary conditions. There's just not enough soap and water nor space for them to follow proper guidance to protect themselves from the disease," he said in a statement yesterday. "Without efforts to increase health care access, improve sanitation, isolate suspected cases and decongest the camp, the disease will devastate the refugee and local population here." It's the latest misery to befall Myanmar's Muslim minority Rohingya, most of whom arrived in the camps after a bloody crackdown by Myanmar's military in 2017 that many governments call genocide. Just last week, a fire ripped through one of the camps, destroying hundreds of flimsy shacks the Rohingya — hoping to return to Myanmar — call their temporary homes.
