This man gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "falling for you". A video that is going viral online shows a Michigan man slipping and falling into a lake right before popping the question to his girlfriend. According to Daily Star, Logan Jackson took his partner, Maria Gugliotta, to Lake Michigan in Grand Haven, hoping for a beautiful proposal. The scene, however, quickly turned from romantic to comic when Mr Jackson tripped and fell into the water. A clip of the incident, shared by Maria Gugliotta on Facebook, shows Mr Jackson walking towards her with a ring concealed in his pocket. But as he walked down the slope of the water, he appeared to step on some seaweed, which led to him slipping and falling straight into the water. Luckily, he managed to turn the hilarious moment around. Undeterred by the tiny obstacle, he brushed himself off and quickly got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend - who accepted happily. The Spanish goalkeeper played for United for the 399th time when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side travelled to Aston Villa in the Premier League and claimed a 3-0 win. It saw De Gea, who joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011, move beyond another keeper in Schmeichel in the club's all-time list. De Gea, 29, remains a long way behind Ryan Giggs, the man with the most United appearances regardless of nationality. The Welshman spent his entire career at Old Trafford and played for them on 963 occasions. The Red Devils' shot-stopper is however eager to continue building on his appearance tally for the club as he also apologised to Schmeichel for breaking his record. | Mobile bank apps convenient for users, but can be vulnerable to hackers - WLS-TV Posted: 09 Jul 2020 09:44 PM PDT  CHICAGO (WLS) -- Mobile banking is an increasingly popular way to manage finances and deposit checks during the COVID-19 pandemic, but thieves can use them to target you. The FBI and other security experts said they've seen a 50% increase in mobile banking in 2020, which is also creating a surge in scams and attempts by hackers to access accounts. The FBI said there are now two risks targeting your bank account: phony banking apps designed to look like your real bank, and "Trojan apps" which are secretly reading and storing your account information as you enter it into your bank app. The red flags can be easy to miss. "The criminals have gotten really good at making these look very official, very slick, very well defined," said Alex Hamerstone of security company TrustedSec. "It might even be a very fun game. But things often times might be simpler, a calculator app or a flashlight app that is pretty easy to code." Hamsterstone said those fake flashlight or calculator apps can constantly run on your phone, and when you log into your banking app the Trojan app steals your account information. You can potentially avoid Trojan apps by researching them first and downloading directly from official app stores. Avoid getting apps from random online searches or links you get in an email. "In general you are going to be in much better shape if you are limiting yourself to the Google and Apple stores," Hamerstone explained. "You are not 100%, nothing is 100%, but you are going to be in a much better position and safer." To steer clear of other fake app posing as your bank, make sure you go directly to your bank's official website and get the app from them. Also set up text and email alerts in case you become a victim of fraud. "It really does come down to prevention, but also reaction and kind of monitoring. So if you do everything you can to prevent these bad apps, if you kind of monitor your account, and then if something does happen you react to it so you notify the bank," Hamsertone said. He also said it's important to have strong, unique passwords and set up two-factor authentication in your account. (AP) — Gustavo Bou scored in the 56th minute to give the New England Revolution a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Impact in the MLS is Back tournament Thursday night. | Arkansas to use mobile ticketing exclusively - El Dorado News-Times Posted: 09 Jul 2020 06:44 PM PDT  FAYETTEVILLE — The trend toward ticket scanning from mobile devices at athletic events has taken a major leap in the last couple of years. At the University of Arkansas, in the time of COVID-19, the growing trend has now turned mandatory. The UA athletic department announced on Thursday that ticketing during the 2020-21 season would switch exclusively to all-mobile scanning. Mobile ticketing will apply to all season tickets, mini-plans and single-game tickets for every sport. Similar ticket measures were announced at Alabama on Tuesday, and the system is growing globally. The NFL made the switch to all digital ticketing for the 2018-19 season. Other sports and concert venues were heading in the same direction even before the coronavirus pandemic. "Our industry has fundamentally always been plagued by issues that are at the core of ticketing, which are anonymity and fraud," Justin Burleigh, chief product officer for North America at Ticketmaster, told CBS Local Sports last winter. Burleigh said mobile ticketing helps solve both of those problems. A question and answer segment on the UA release announcing the ticket-scanning policy opened with the question: Why are we making this change? The answer: Safety. "Digital tickets allow for paperless entry and eliminates contact between fans and gate entry staff," the release stated. The UA also claimed the full implementation of mobile scanning would result in a savings of $180,000 the department can re-invest into the 465-plus student-athletes competing in 19 sports on campus. "Based on the successful launch of a mobile ticketing option for single games and the implementation of self-scanning gate entry in recent seasons, we are expanding the use of mobile ticketing for Razorback events in each of our sports," Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek said in a statement. "Whether it is transferring tickets to family or friends, getting the latest update on gameday changes or self-scanning themselves into the event, our fans now can manage their tickets, at their convenience, by utilizing their smart phones. "No longer do fans need to worry about forgetting tickets at home or in the car. With mobile ticketing, our fans literally have all of the gameday options they need right in the palm of their hand." The UA release also cited flexibility and ease of use as factors in switching to all-mobile ticketing. UA officials said digital tickets would allow for real-time changes to event dates or times when needed, will allow easy transference on devices to friends and family without having to ship or meet in person and help eliminate ticket fraud. The print at home option previously in use for disbursement of tickets will no longer be available. A team from the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), a centre supported by the "la Caixa" Foundation, has conducted the first epidemiological study to explore the relationship between brain volume in preadolescents -- more than 2,500 Dutch children -- and different doses of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF). No association was found, although the authors did not rule out the possibility of an association between using mobile devices with a wireless Internet connection and smaller volume of the caudate nucleus. The potential negative health consequences associated with children's use of mobile devices have been a matter of concern for some time. Exposure to RF-EMF is of particular interest, since the preadolescent brain is still developing and children will experience long periods of exposure to RF-EMF if they use mobile devices throughout their lives. Most previous research on this subject has separately assessed the association between brain development and different RF-EMF sources, without finding clear associations. The new study, published in Environment International, aimed to investigate brain volume alterations using an integrative approach that considered multiple sources of RF-EMF. This approach allowed a more comprehensive assessment of the possible impact of RF-EMF exposure on the adolescent brain. The study used data on more than 2,500 children aged 9-12 years from the Generation R Study, a birth cohort based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Parents completed a questionnaire on their children's use of mobile devices. RF-EMF doses to the brain from different sources were estimated and grouped according to three exposure patterns: telephone calls, screen activities, and other environmental factors such as mobile telephone antennas. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans were used to determine the volume of various parts of the brain. The authors found no association between alterations in total or lobe-specific brain volume and overall RF-EMF dose. Nor was brain volume associated with the use of mobile devices for telephone calls, which are the primary contributors of RF-EMF exposure to the brain. However, a link was found between smaller volume of the caudate nucleus -- a brain structure involved in memory and coordination of movements -- and RF-EMF dose from the use of devices with screens (mobile phones, tablets and laptops) with a wireless Internet connection. "The main objective of the study was to determine whether there were any associations between exposure to RF-EMF and brain volumes," commented ISGlobal researcher Alba Cabré, lead author of the study. "Our findings show that this is not the case. When Boeheim's Army plays Sideline Cancer Saturday (4 p.m., ESPN) in The Basketball Tournament's version of the elite eight, it wants to contain Keene, the former Central Michigan scoring phenom. The Sideline point guard has disrupted defenses in the two games his team has won. He's averaging 22.5 points and 6 assists per game. And while those numbers jump from the stats page, Keene's contributions stem mainly from his quickness and his skill with the ball. He penetrates the lane and if defenders converge, he locates shooters in the corners. "He's their playmaker. He makes shots. He sets up their offense. He's quick. He's very physical," said Boeheim's Army coach Ryan Blackwell. "He likes to get the ball out and make plays. We're going to have to key on him and stop the ball first, whether we're in man or zone." Keene is listed at 5-foot-9. Boeheim's Army guard John Gillon (listed at 5-11) insisted Thursday that Keene was "actually much smaller than me." The two Texans are friends, Gillon said. And while they share (relative) size and speed similarities, Gillon said they have different TBT job descriptions. Boeheim's Army, Gillon said, has "more balanced" scoring options, while Sideline Cancer needs Keene to excel to play well. With him at the helm, the team has averaged nearly 85 points in its two games. "You can't stop him completely," Gillon said. "He's a very good player. I want to start with that. The zone will be tough. We just played Justin Dentmon, who is taller and a little bigger and it was hard for him to get his shots off in the zone. But Marcus is quicker. It'll be a new challenge for us." Blackwell and his players on Thursday praised the performance of the zone, which Boeheim's Army used in tandem with its man defense. Down the stretch, during the crucial Elam Ending on Tuesday, Men of Mackey struggled to get shots, turned the ball over and eventually lost. The zone was distracting and effective. Every summer, Boeheim's Army players talk about the importance and uniqueness of Syracuse's zone. But at times, TBT teams have shredded it, relying on a bevy of skilled and savvy 3-point shooters. On Saturday, the Army will face a Sideline Cancer team that shot a combined 40.7 percent from the 3-point line in its two previous TBT games this summer. The Sideline Cancer team, too, has something of a secret weapon in Jamel Artis. You might recall Artis as the former Pittsburgh player who camped at the free throw line against SU's 2-3 and made plays from that spot. Gillon remembers him. "We talked about him," he said. "We're going to … recognize that he did play against the zone and might have some familiarity with it. That is someone to keep an eye on during the game." Shooting woes Boeheim's Army was terrific at driving the ball and getting to the free throw line Tuesday. The Syracuse team shot 28-of-32 from the line. It made more free throws than Men of Mackey attempted. What it did not do so well was shoot from the perimeter. Boeheim's Army was 4-of-21 from the 3-point line. Shooting issues over the years have plagued the team in TBT play. "In practice, we make shots. In games, it's a little bit different," Blackwell said. "I was happy to see us get to the line and shoot 28-of-32 from the free throw line. I keep telling guys to mix it up. You can't just settle for threes." That's what happened in stretches of Tuesday's game. The Boeheim's Army offense stalled and instead of working through an offensive set, or probing for a better shot, somebody tossed up a contested 3. Andrew White said the team needs to play with more pace and explore more aspects of its offense. "The key," said Demetris Nichols, "is to continue to have confidence in your craft, in your preparation and do all the small things to help yourself get the results that you want, whether it's being on balance, your follow-through, taking your time." This and that White grabbed six rebounds in Tuesday's win. He said those boards were a result of "identifying what I could do to make sure we won." Boeheim's Army, typically one of TBT's bigger teams, is this year one of its smaller squads. It will face another good rebounder in Eric Thompson, who is averaging 11.5 rebounds per game for Sideline Cancer. "In that zone, there are a lot of loose balls that are being tipped around," White said. "I was just trying to get in there and clean up." … Thompson is important for his team because of an injury sustained by the 7-footer Diamond Stone. Stone dominated Sideline's first game, but did not play in its second contest. Blackwell said he'd heard Stone had "a partially torn Achilles" and likely would not play on Saturday … The only non-Syracuse guy, Will Rayman, played 11 minutes in Tuesday's win, but his teammates praised him for his toughness and his adaptation to the zone. Boeheim's Army will have played one game in nine days in Columbus by the time Saturday rolls around. Multiple days of practice have helped guys get acclimated to each other. ... Sideline Cancer is the No. 22 seed, but don't let that number fool you. Seeds are determined when the field is set; often rosters look different when games actually start. Also, the team is playing for a special cause: To eradicate pancreatic cancer. Sideline Cancer has participated in every TBT since the tournament's inception in 2014.
