After two seasons with the Clemson Tigers, center Trey Jemison is looking for a change in scenery. According to reports, Jemison is entering the transfer portal.

Jemison was a 2018 commit with the Tigers but saw little production in his two years with Clemson. He can play two more seasons of college basketball.

According to sources, 247Sports confirmed the news of Jemison's intentions to enter the portal.

There are no indications where Jemison is looking to go, but since he is an Alabama native, he could conceivably go closer to home and play in the SEC for the Crimson Tide or go to rival Auburn as well.

In two seasons, Jemison averaged 1.2 points per game, 1.5 rebounds per game, 0.1 assists per game, 0.2 steals per game and 0.2 blocks per game. With little production, Jemison likely felt a better opportunity was to be had elsewhere to continue his college basketball career.

In 2019-20, he scored a career high 10 points against Alabama A&M last November and logged a career high four blocks and two steals.

In the class of 2018, Jemison was a three-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite. He was the No. 3 overall player in the state of Alabama, the No. 28 center in the country and the No. 210 overall prospect in the country.

In high school, Jemison averaged 19 points per game, 15 rebounds per game and five blocks per game as a senior. He led his high school (Hoover HS) to a state championship in 2015-16.

The NCAA introduced the portal on Oct. 15, 2018, providing athletes a path to explore their options. Players do not need to ask permission from their coaching staff in order to transfer. They merely need to request that compliance enter their name. Usually, it takes 24-48 hours for a player to appear following their request. Schools are free to contact a player without restriction once their name appears in the portal.

While a player entering their name in the transfer portal means they intend to explore their options, it does not necessarily mean they will leave. A player is free to withdraw his name at any time. However, schools are under no obligation to keep a player on scholarship once they enter the portal.

The first portal cycle saw 1,942 FBS players enter in the initial calendar year of its existence, per a source.
